    Coming Clean

I use melatonin almost every night, you can buy it in different mg's...I think you build up a tolerance up to it because I am up to about 15 mgs, whereas 3 used to knock me out!

Miley - I used to get up to go to the gym at 4:45am too...I did that for about 6 months, my 16 year old nephew even used to go with me. Then he joined the swim team and water polo team and got all muscular and left me in the dust. LOL Soo...are you on day 2 or 3? Sorry, I'm bad at counting. Whatever it is...good job and keep it up!

I too have notice that a tolerance is built up. I find the sleep good though.

Sam - Yes the sleep is great...also I've noticed that I can tweak the amount of time it will take me to get to sleep. I'll take 15mgs if it's later at night and I need to get to sleep quicker, and I'll only take 10mgs if I feel like staying up for about a half hour with a good book. Before I quit drinking I never realized how "controlling" I am in all these little things...but now I see it. LOL

Miley great idea re buying things to reward yourself. All the money we save by not drinking wine every night! Prob 80 quid a week at least. Then add to that i feel and look so much better since I gave up. I look like a different person even after just over a week. Remind yourself alcohol doesn't help you it just numbs yiu and holds you back from processing the pain. Once you've dealt with the pain yiu are free to live your life and be happy with no hangover no feeling constantly tired on edge grumpy with no energy. You are making progress remind yourself of that. Don't beat yourself up. You can do this! You're stronger and smarter than that glass of wine!

Sue - Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. You are right.....I am making progress and I need to be patient.

WE....I am doing pretty good. I have been a bit in my head for the last couple of days but I think this is normal for anyone who has abused AL for so many years. I think the main thing I need to learn is patience. This is a process....I didn't become addicted to AL overnight and I won't become un-addicted overnight either.
