    Hi all

Hello Tea and welcome, Lots of us alkies just love to drink alone, I know I do. That way nothing or anyone can stand in our way to get totally hammered. We alkies don't like being told we drink to much or have a problem with al. You have taken the first step good luck and stay close :welcome::welcome:

      Hi all

Hello wits end, The casks were my downfall. Could drink pretty much as much as I wanted and no-one really had any idea!! And I didn't have to worry how many empty bottles were lying around!! What part of NSW are you in ?. I am near Melb. :nutso:

        Hi all

Hello everyone, just posting away at a million miles an hour tonight as Day 2 and i very rarely do 1 day.

Hadit i never bought casks as i knew i would drink way too much so i bought bottles so i could see, then i would feel bad and then i would do exactly the same thing the next day. I always drank alone but in my bedroom with the bottle next to me watching tv. My sons would be in the rest of the house.

I'm starting to feel the effects of the AL lately, tremors, pains, feeling something bad is going to happen to me. I am so glad I am on Day 2.

I live in Melbourne Hadit and over the winter.

          Hi all

Well done for getting to day 2 Hadit. I have a lot of pains today, in my chest and stomach, but drinking lots of water and trying to stay positive that I will go without AL tonight!

            Hi all

            Hi Tea!
I just wanted to welcome you, we're glad you're here! I was an "at home alone" drinker too...I think most of us reached that point when we realized we were out of control. You CAN do this and we can help you. Stick around and GREAT JOB on getting through day 1!

              Hi all

Thanks K9Lover - love the name btw. I just went grocery shopping and it was hard. I walked around the store 3 or 4 times even though I only needed milk and kitty litter. But I did. I got the milk, the kitty litter.... And some juice, and some chocolate milk, and some sparkling water... But no AL. Feeling proud although it's only a small step but I'm getting through the evening.

                Hi all

Teabags, this is a journey of small steps! Well done on your grocery shopping! Keeping your tummy full is the best advice there is. I became a cookie aficionado and many turn to ice cream! I hope you are having an easy day! Byrdie

                  Hi all

Thanks Byrdie! Cookies and ice cream both sound great... And I have ice cream in the freezer right now. I'm getting twitchy now but there is a real hint of autumn/fall in the air tonight so I think I'll sit on the balcony to try and work through it. I hope your Monday is good.

                      Hi all

Tea I also drank alone. Everyone was surprised when I quit, they didn't know how much or how often I drank. I found telling people out loud made me more accountable. I didn't go into details. I just said I don't want to drink any more.

                              Hi all

Just checking in everyone - I'm sad to say that so early on, I messed up. Last night my boyfriend told me he doesn't want to move in with me. We have spent 3 months planning it and it was a shock. He can't even tell me why. I really went on a bender. I feel so ashamed and am having a hard time. BUT I hope you are all doing well. I will try again.
