Off to climb a mountain
Hey Suesue,
What an awesome thing to look forward to. If ever there was a reason to put the drinks down it's the beauty you're about to experience. Photos please!
Congratulations on almost 3 weeks.2023 - focus, getting it done, and living the way it should be and being the person I need to be.

Off to climb a mountain
Suesue day 29 I'm back. it was an amazing trip. Climbed 5000 metres hiking camping on mount jkenya for 4 nights. Climb to the summit was scary started at 3 am to catch sunrise. Altitude made it tougher. Hard to breathe and hike sometimes at such altitude. I made it tho. Great feeling then 4 hour hike back down mountain on mainly loose scree (loose stone) scary scary. I bummed some of it down cos fell a few times. that day pushed me to my limit 12 hour hike in total and after summit had to make it to new camp base so 7 hours after reached summit to go. Exhausting when energy levels were low after hardly any sleep due to early start. Group I was with we're amazing great team spirit. I was up front manly cos I was the slowest and least experienced. I made it tho!!!great feeling of accomplishment. Then next day 60 k moutain cycle after three hour hike. Stony ground on. Mountain bike scary a gain thought I'd come off the bike but learnt to trust the bike over rocks. Then another 60 k biking next day. Then stayed at beautiful safari camp with a bed and shower!!! Never appreciated a bed toilet shower more after roughing it ith no shower for six days!! Went on safari saw elephants lions buffalo rhino zebra giraffe warthogs. Amazing!! Then changed to another less salve camp. Another bed to my delight but not quite so comfy cue neck strain. But still happy camper to have a loo and bed. then finally white water rafting in I've rapids scary at first but exciting.
This trip pushed me to mt limits and comfort zone. There was occasion to drink but I styled strong. Several nights before and after the mountain others drank but I stayed on coke. Last night we went or big slap up meal in Nairobi everyone was quite drunk and drinks were flowning. I stayed on coke. Felt a bit left out o be honest at times. Answered the inevitable questions you don't drink do u? Me no! Did yiu ever drink? Yes but I found it just dint suit me and I got the fear so I decided I didn't want to drink anymore. Felt ok bout saying that guess it will get easier in future. We went dancing afterwards bd it was great fun. I found myself very comfortable not self conscious without drink as my usual crutch! I found tht after a while when everyone else is drinking and you're not you're in control and prob more so than they. So felt confident. )Drink free since 18 August 2013:h

Hi Sue, I'm very happy for you! That trip sounds fantastic, good job pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. You are right, you will get much more comfortable with your AF "identity" as time goes by. It is actually your true identity, so it fits like a favorite shirt that you rediscover in the back of your closet.
Wow, day 29 already! Great job!"When you have faults, do not fear to abandon them." Analects of Confucius
