Back again
On day 1 AGAIN...determined to make it stick this time- reach my all time low last night and just need to stop. I have had 3 years AF and then in October last year started again and keep quitting on and off and it just doesn't stick. I don't know why but need to take responsibility. I know last time this site was a life saver so I am back again. The support here is AWESOME!!!Thanks in advance for you support.Tags: None

Good luck Fiji and 3 years wow thats impressive, god i am lucky to get to 7 days but i keep trying and trying. I am sure something just clicks in our heads to stop but there is also that button that makes us drink, wish i could get rid of that one out of my life.
Will be lovely to see you around here.AF free 1st December 2013 - 1st December 2022 - 9 years of freedom

Welcome back Fiji!
Do you know what triggered you to start again after 3 years? I'm always curious so that I can beware of the dangers that lurk. Sorry you had such a bad night...I had more of those than I can remember...they're blanks, but I know they were BAD. Stick close to us and keep on posting.

I am back again too. I didn't drink for 9 months & felt great. But kept thinking something was missing.
Now I am back to hiding bottles from my husband and feeling crap every day.
Day 1 for me too. There is no other way besides not drinking.

Welcome Sally!
You should both join us over in the Newbies Nest...there's lots of support and encouragment and people are in all stages of their quits. We'd love to get to know both of you better!
I realized that something WAS missing when I quit drinking. It was: shame, anxiety, embarrassment and regret. All of that I can do without!:heart:I love my daughter more than alcohol:heart:

Welcome back, Fijigirl and SallyAnne.
If you're interested in sharing, there is a thread for posting about relapsing and why. I think these stories help all of us and maybe writing it out would benefit you: https://www.mywayout.org/community/f9...ect-78410.html
You'd be welcome in the Newbies Nest even though you aren't really new to all of this. There are several returners posting there right now.

Thanks everyone,
The reasons I started were gradual - I had a glass of wine with dinner and felt so relazed and then thought I could moderate....at the same time I took on a business partner which was okish in the begginning and just got worse and worse and I have been trying to get her to leave for three months now...also in December my mum got cancer again and had to have a mastectomy.
All excuses and not reasons to drink but I did nonetheless. Day 2 for me today and feeling great but tired. Thanks for the support and hello to all the new Day oners!! Let get through this together !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thanks:
