    End of Week 1

And I am proving to myself that I am not a "weak one"! :H

Proud of myself this week. Last drink was Friday 6th September. In the last seven days I have been the gym five days, watched what I ate, and kept off the booze.

Energy levels and motivation high at this point.

    Stay strong all :h

    Keep On Keeping On!

Failure is one sip away at all times. I can only think one day ahead at a time but it is good to look back.

A life without alcohol is not something I am yet able to get my head around.

Hopefully that will develop with each passing day

Logging in here has inspired me so thank you everyone for being so honest.

          End of Week 1

Day 9 today and sights firmly on making next Sunday Day 16. Watching Great North Run on telly. I can run 7 k in the gym when I am not hungover so I am working on a plan. Gt Nrth run is 21 k (13 miles). I am signing up for the 5k Santa Dash in December. I am going to do a 10k run by end of April. Whether I make the 20k by this time next year is maybe thinking too big and goes against the one day at a time philosophy but I am thinking big. The last 8 days has given me my life back. I read on here how to switch from Deprivation thinking to having a Gratitude mindset. Grateful that I don't have to drink, grateful I still have my health, grateful I have a chance to escape the past and get a better life. The GNR has examples of so many young lives lost to illness. How dare I be so complacent to misuse what I have been given by wasting it drinking poison.Keep On Keeping On!

To be honest BH I am sat here watching the run on telly feeling totally ashamed that I could take my health for granted like I have. AL got me fat and on medication for depression. That's what I did voluntarily. Madness. I have to break free from that.

You said in your original post that you are proud of yourself for this week, and so you should be. You are breaking free and fighting back, well done!

                      End of Week 1

I remember last week, Monday 9/9 I drank 16oz wine box and a 750 ml bottle then yelled at the wife cussing so loud because she did not agree with me about something silly on TV. We did not talk for a day and half. Man that was bad.

Then last Friday she was so drunk she fell asleep on the pot.

                      Day 7 and thankful.

Well done. Keep at it as it does get easier (slightly) Day 11 now for me. Business trip abroad tomorrow. Usually have to get drunk to get on a plane. Going to try it dry but am terrified. Grit teeth and get on with it is the only way
