Hi there So, welcome aboard. Sounds as if you've already started the process, acknowledge something is wrong, desire to stop, and joining here. A couple of ways to keep sober is to look on these links below.
Keep your self busy, adopt an attitude of not fighting the urge, rather that you simply don't drink any more. PERIOD. Read some books on getting sober. Live, breathe, and enjoy not poisoning yourself, not feeling like crap. Relish in that feeling!

So Lost ...what Sam said!! Also checkout the tool box and newbies nest. There are a lot of good resources and some pretty awesome people on this forum. People with a lot of sobriety that were where you are and I are at, the beginning. I like Sam's advice. We are going to crave alcohol sometimes a lot, we just decide not to give into it...one minute, day, week at a time.

      We can do this!!

Don't forget to be kind to yourself, treat yourself to something nice, even if its just an hour in front of the TV or with a book. Long soak in the bath, chocolate, anything but booze

Sam said it best. But remember we are all here because we fight the same fight every day that you do. You are not alone. Read, post and take it one day at a time. The same amount of time will pass whether you improve your life or not.
No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.
