In some ways, not having to think about it anymore is one of the greatest benefits of becoming a non-drinker. For the most part when a thought crosses my mind, the phrase "I don't drink" pops up and BAM - done. No more wasted time.
Rahul, how are you today? You can get back to the good place you were for over a month and this time you can keep it going. You accomplished it when you really engaged here, posting often, asking for help, and cheerfully supporting others. If you're still traveling and can't get online, please promise yourself (and us) that you'll come back and start fresh, stronger in your resolve due to this bad experience, and get this DONE!

TJAF;1561470 wrote: No Sugar, with all due respect to the wonderful advice and support I've gotten directly and indirectly on MWO the best piece of advice was your simple singular thought that has become my mantra..."I DONT DRINK" I have said it many times this go around. Every attempt to quit before has always been predicated on the thought, repressed or present, that I could eventually moderate. What I know after years of trying is that moderation is pure BS. Thank you! The trick now is to remember this mantra 61 days and beyond. I DONT DRINK.
One that really knocked me over the head one day was from someone I don't really know but will always think of with gratitude. Nanette wrote, "If not one, why not none?". All those times I tried to have just one and failed, "none" really wasn't an option I wanted to consider but as it turns out -- it is a great choice!
Keep it simple, TJAF! All the best to you - NS

yep. I remember after I hit 90 days I was at a party and I thought to myself that I had this thing lickes and my brain has returned to normal. ( 90 days ha) SOOOO I had a bourbon and coke. That quickly led to 2-3 more (probably 6 or more)and while still buzzed, on my way home, I bought a bottle and that was it. 4 years later I'm at 60 days. The difference this time is your simple thought! I Dont Drink!Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that but simply growth, We are happy when we are growing.

I planned a holiday during a relapse, but used it as a reason to get and stay sober.
It's whatever you make it, and I so do agree with K9, no one slips and I hate the word 'cave'. Both imply it was a whoopsie, or that you have no choice. You always have a choice.I used the Sinclair Method to beat my alcoholic drinking.
Drank within safe limits for almost 2 years
