    Endo man

    Good Morning,
I am new to the site and hope this is where i do an intro.
I am 57 yrs old and have been a heavy drinker for 20 plus yrs. I have been tapering off for the last 2 days and tonight is my final taper. I have quit drinking a couple of times over the years for a year each time and just forgot why I quit I quess, (this addiction is crazy). I have done AA before and it somewhat helped but find a forum like MWO interesting.
I am not looking forward to the first several of days AF but will combat the withdrawels and craves with diet and exercise and living my life once again.

    Hi Tim and Welcome!

We're glad you've found us. This site has literally saved my life. You should head over to the thread called Newbies Nest, it's big and busy, but you'll see that people there have a lot of advice and encouragement to give. There are people in all stages of their quits there. Please stick around so we can get to know you!

Hello Endo - :welcome: you came to the right place. This site is chalk full of folks just like you, and me. All varying stages of quitting and varying levels of alcohol abuse/dependency, but loads of support. Many here, including myself, have tried AA and lots of other types of support groups as well. Most of the senior members suggest hanging out in the Newbie's Nest for a while and continue to read and post. Read the stories, construct your plans to stay AF, and tell us about yourself when you're ready. No judging here. We're all in the same boat. There's also a Newbie's Tool Box to help you as well. I'll find the link and send it.

Welcome and sounds like you're off to a good start with diet and exercise to keep you focused.
Stay close - There seems to be a direct correlation in engaging here and the level of success in staying af.

Endo - Was trying to cut and past the link for the tool box, but not working for me. So, as you're reading posts, look for any posts from Byrdlady (Byrdie), she has the link in her sig line along with the Newbies Nest.
