End of week 3
This is my third Friday Night AF post. A big thing for me as Friday was always the night I drunk to blackout (other nights was merely just getting drunk - maybe not as far as blackout). I am not looking for praise or comment. Just posting sober every Friday night helps me enormously as it is a landmark on the route to being sober. I like the number 3. Here's to doing this next week at number four. Keep on keeping on:hLast drink 6th September 2013Tags: None

Softy - Enjoy your sober Friday night! I understand where you're coming from. It's like you hear "it's Friday" and something happens to my brain. I hope you do something entertaining with your time. Husband and me have been getting into a lot of the hit tv series and playing a lot of board games. We're party animals!! LOL!

Thanks all. Watching the rugby whilst the Mrs watches Strictly Go Prancing. I come here and post because I know JC keeps a quiet watchful eye over me and every now and then gets a bit bit bossy. That is exactly what I need, it keeps me in check! I thank you all from the heart of my bottom :-)Last drink 6th September 2013

Softy don't you just love waking up on Saturday mornings feeling good, knowing you have the whole day ahead to do whatever you like? No hangover, no lying in all day because you can't face the sun?Newbies Nest

End of week 3
Waking up sober is one of my favorite parts of the day. I am an early morning riser and I love waking up with a clear head and savoring the smell of brewing coffee. It gives me something to look forward to every night when I go to bed!John

End of week 3
My 3rd Friday too. Yes the weekend switch "beep" which meant I can drink even more. I even got off work at 2pm today. Damn wasted a good drinking day. My wife and I drove a few hours away to Tulsa planning to spend the night and check out the town, never been there. Spur of the moment thing. We got there and passed a few casinos and downtown there were bars and it occurs to us that we have nothing to do, we don't drink. We got there faster than we thought and after driving around we got bored. We are not movie people were "lets check out the bars" people.
Anyway we were not hit with the "I got have a drink" strategic talk from our drinkers mind. I think it gave up on that strategy. Now it tried the "thats what people do, go and drink hit the bars don't be bored, you can drink, it's okay".
We stopped at an old diner, they din't even serve alcohol, no neon beer signs, had some great greasy homemade food and then drove home and got back by 10pm.
Yes it is truly awesome to wake up and reflect on a "new way" fun night. Our challenge now for the next phase or whatever you want to call it is to know the drinkers mind and see it has conversations, reasons to drink for any occassion.
But right now its coffee time, peace and quiet and possibility thinking in the morning.
Good job Softy and crew. What you resist persits
