    Hey, Londoner

    I'm not sure what your goal is about sugar and your post in the NN made me confused about your goal regarding drinking. I don't want to go on and on if being AF or eating the diet you described the other day isn't your goal. I would like to support you in achieving your goals, as you are doing for us, but I need to be clear about what they are.

      Hey NS,

      My ultimate goal is to not consume processed foods. Of course there will be times when I will consume them - birthdays etc. But I do not want to have them as a daily food. My diet will consist of proteins, fats and non starchy veg for the most part with starches targetted around my strength sessions.

      I do want to be AF. But I have slipped up recently. I have fallen into that trap of drinking on 2 consecutive weekends, and am at that point when the brain starts playing tricks on you - "It's okay to drink". That rubbish. I need 2-3 clear weekends of AF to re-establish my mindset.

      You will learn that I am very hot and cold. There is no real mid point for me on many things.

        In another thread we've been discussing how many of us on MWO tend to be all-or-nothing people. This can be both our greatest strength and greatest weakness.

        Thanks for clarifying your goals - they are similar to mine: 100% AF and ~98% true to my chosen diet with allowances made for being graceful and appreciative in limited social situations.

                  Concentration is improving already and mood stabilising.

                  I really think anything that robs us of natural dopamine production - such as sugar binges - really can mess with our moods.

                    Broke down and had a lovely dessert at a colleagues' restaurant. Would have been ungracious of me not to accept. Tomorrow I'll start again on my goal of 30 consecutive SF days.

                    Did notice that an hour later I was sooooooooo sleeply. Ready to get back on track tomorrow.

                      Definitely noticed the lack of energy the last couple days- I'm good through the mornings and mid day then totally drop in the afternoon/evening. I'm useless as of about 6 pm. I expect this to even out as I get to the week-mark, as it ususally has in the past.

                      Keep it going, everyone! Remember that sugar is a drug and we are sober/sober-intending people!

                        Can be a sign of insulin resistance. Just something to keep in mind - but obviously I don't know a thing about your health status

                          Lethargy (and moodiness) after eating too many carbs was part of what made me check out my blood glucose situation. I haven't been able to get my insulin levels checked, though, which would be more informative. From what I've read, insulin resistance seems to be more common than realized and central to many health problems. Do you have other information about it, Londoner?
