Well, feeling and looking pretty A okay NS.
The bloat (which I didn't even realise I had) is slowly disappearing. I have even lost a couple of kilos now. Bonus-bonus!
And I am discovering the joys of fruit. The past two week has been an exploration of oranges! Silly and fun.
So much better than the confusing exploration of fine wine that I would end up forgetting the names of anyway.. haha.. what WAS the point of drinking all that wine anyhow? I really cannot even remember!!! It is pretty easy to remember not to drink it now though. Amazing how that happens just all of a sudden... like one day ... boom! "Don't drink wine you dingbat!' (right, right!):rant:
Ah. Yes, NS, life is getting better. :bouncy:(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober

Way to go, El! I had some sweeter than normal food for Thanksgiving and dang if it didn't help awaken my AL- loving brain. I'm feeling like I'm past that now, thank goodness, but it sure is a reminder about how much better off I am when I don't eat any added sugar! Congrats on all the success you are having!

You know NS I was thinking this morning that I think not eating sugar is helping with the alcohol cravings. Although the LGlut helps too, I am waiting on my next order and thinking more about holiday sweats thans usual. I am also a bit more anxious, but that could be this stupid temp job (which I am grateful for...yes, I know).
And Bonus-Bonus I just realized I have lost 4 pounds since October 11.
Whoopie!
Glad your AL craving is passing, dangerous business!(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober

It must be starting to feel normal, El. I bet candy would taste almost sickeningly sweet to you now. It is amazing how we can become tolerant to sugar when we're consuming it regularly, just like with AL. I wonder what is up with Allen and Skull???

Hey NS- yeah it is great to be off the sugar.
Occasionally I have a bit of honey on my oatmeal and it is almost too sweet. And, I do not crave it like happens when you put sugar on it.
If I use sugar then every time I have oatmeal (which is every day) then I think - sugar, sugar.... don't want it if there is no sugar.
Now I am happy with cinnamon. Cool, right?
And I am finally loosing weight! Mind you I was busy working so not nibbling when I felt like it at home, but I think not drinking or eating sweats HAS to be a factor?

Like with AL, none is just so much easier than a bit! We feel like our brains are one unified thing but they're not - so for me, living in a way that there is no internal conflict between what we know is right for us and intellectually want to do vs craving something we've convinced ourselves we need, is a no-brainer !
Not eating sweets changes your metabolism and hormonal environment in a way that typically would signal your body to burn rather than store fat but also, you're probably just consuming less. Paradoxically, eating caloric sweets can actually increase hunger and food intake.
It's so nice to have a no sugar buddy here !Last edited by NoSugar; December 6, 2014, 09:23 AM.
