okay so even if i feel a bit like i am talking to myself by posting here (too) often, so be it.
otherwise, I go by the wayside. i ate a brownie in the night and woke up feeling anxious and like i had a bit of a hangover.
and i keep thinking about sweets!!!(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober

Looks like DG might join you, El. And maybe someone will notice how good you guys are feeling and be inspired to give it a try. It certainly wouldn't hurt anyone and can potentially help just about everyone. Have a nice weekend in France. Happy 2nd wedding anniversary!

thanks NS!
We had a lovely week-end and I did my best to eat right, but it didn't go so great. No binging but ate chips (which make me feel terrible after), and some cookies again last night.
and so DAY 1 begins again!(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober

Ugh.
end of day 1, yet again.
by the way all those chips in the car turned into a big migraine for 3 days. at least i am guessing that may have triggered it?
nightmare.
however, a rather insightful one.
i am not prepared for tonight either.. a busy day and now i am sleepy.
gonna prepare some fruit in case 'the night stalker' (aka me) wakes up hungry!(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober

It doesn't sound too appealing, El, but what about some nighttime nuts? The good thing about them is that they have fat, carbs, and protein.
Waking up hungry after a high-carb dinner is pretty "normal" for people with blood sugar issues. There is a surge of insulin to deal with the carbs that often overshoots, resulting in low blood sugar, which signals hunger (and sometimes dizziness or shakiness). I've found it works to never let my blood sugar go too high and thereby avoid those awful lows that follow a few hours later.
Good luck!!

NS- I had to share some good news .... I did a bedtime meditation/hypno cd last night and guess what? I did not get up to eat in the night!
I woke up to use the bathroom and that was it.
So, there is hope for me yet. Feeling a lot happier today.(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober

Woke up to a 2nd morningt I did not awake anxious 2-3 times during the night with an urge to eat something.
Nothing short of a miracle if you ask me. Why did I not look for help with this earlier? I have, was given medicine and it made things even worse. I have done this so long I gave up thinking it was possible to stop.
Feeling positively rested and ready for Sunday.

It is rather unbelievable to be honest NS as I NEVER sleep through the night, ever.
I was diagnosed w/a sleep disorder as a child and it has never gone away. I used to sleepwalk and drive my parents nuts as I could hold a full conversation and be sound asleep. My dad found it particularly disturbing. Anyhow, I guess I have always been riddled with anxiety?
He says now it was like talking to a ghost.
I will definitely listen to the meditation/hypno CD again tonight, will expand my yoga practice and look into the mindfulness training for me as well.
Kind of interesting as if I was still drinking I would never had realised all this but blamed the anxiety and lack of restful sleep on my drinking, which honestly I mostly drank because of anxiety and to be free of my thoughts. Anyway, we are just going to be grateful for the past two nights of rest.
I was so tired this morning I felt like I had not slept properly in years.Last edited by Eloise; April 19, 2015, 11:27 AM.(AF since 17 May 2014) 2 years 5 months sober
