Happy New Year, dear!
I know the flu can definitely take some time to get over.. is that what you have? I would also say, if it isn't significantly better by Monday, get yourself to the doctor.. yeah? I hate going to the doctor and always let things go as long as possible.. but sometimes...

Hey LC....I got a chest infection on Boxing Day which seemed to wipe me out physically. Was getting worried it could be something else but thankfully feel so much better today.
At least there was no possibility or thoughts of drinking.IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN

So glad we are doing this together...I don't even have to count my days....just check out yours and subtract 4!IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN

I seem to remember us having quite a few day 1's together, too..
enough of those, eh?
It's good to see so many people getting it, feeling that this time is different, giving up the fight, in a way, by realizing it just isn't possible to drink AND that if we decide to, the consequences just aren't worth it. At least that's how I feel now. I know that in the past, straying away from here, for whatever reason, hurt feelings, feeling like I'm past needing MWO, wanting to drink again, whatever, has been a mistake. I've inevitably ended up drinking again, if not right away, then at some point. This time I will stay put.. that's a promise to myself..
Will you do a little something special for yourself tomorrow?
I loved what you said about joking around with your daughters.. for me that's also been important.. laughing again. How old are your girls? Can't remember..
ok, early to bed..see you tomorrow..

Since Easter I have had 1 to 2 bottles of wine most nights. It is how I felt when I originally came here. I always regretted messing up my first quit as I felt so strong in it. I am completely starting from scratch again and when I get my life back I intend to protect it!

Daisy!! You were in my thoughts yesterday on your 60 days! And I even shared the most amazing piece of carrot cake with a friend at a café to celebrate...:happy2:
4 kids!! OMG.. I have 2 friends that each have 4 grown children and I have such respect.. I love kids, but I really have my hands full with just 2. How far along is your daughter? So exciting to have a baby on the way.
Wishing you a lovely day..

She is 5 months now and her finishing her degree at the same time. She is doing an exam today with her finals around the due date. Yea, it is exciting....I told her last night that I am getting one of those wee baby slings so I can carry the baby...you should have seen her face!
What age are your two? Older people always told me to enjoy them being children as it is over so quick......it is only now I see what they meant.
I am so happy to start the new year with sober time under my belt.....feeling optimistic!IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO BE WHAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN

Daisy, how wonderful to be having a grand baby and being sober you'll be able to enjoy each and every moment, when my little grandson was born I was still half heartedly attempting to quit for good so much of his first year I barely remember, it was only last year after he turned 2 that I was getting decent sober stretches in but still there were drinking days and recovery time where I had to put off seeing him, stay strong,I regret the missed time with him,now he'll be 3 in March and I try and make the most of the time I have with him(even though he exhausts me haha)I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

Happy Saturday, Daisy,
hope you've had a nice one! my girls are 11 and 14.. and I'm enjoying them so much right now. It's no wonder they're responding so well to my better moods, longer attention span, sense of humour, is it?
A sling to carry the baby sounds like a great idea..do you live close to your daughter?
