Hi there! Just heading back home. My daughter is back on her feet, thank goodness. I have a four hour drive ahead of me, so no time to check back how everyone is doing just yet. I am happy to see this thread is alive and well, though!

I am still on track. I've had thoughts of how nice it would be to open up a bottle of wine when I get home and unwind from the last few days, but I won't do it. My plan is to get home and log on, though, since I feel a little vulnerable.

Hi Kailey - good to hear about your daughter, but sorry about your drive - and I can sympathise with those thoughts!
I have just logged on as it is just 5pm on Friday and I am tempted - just got in from running kids around, have a coffeeand decided to log on here to strengthen my daisy

Thanks, SL! Just made it home. The cravings are long gone and I'm excited to wake up to day 7 tomorrow. The house is quiet, both my dog and husband are sound asleep, so I'm going to read some on this site so that I'll be ready for tomorrow. I don't want to get derailed by the weekend! Glad to be back!

Just checking in on everyone..It's before dawn here and I am up and thinking about you all. Great job on fighting those demons. I actually had a few stinkin' drinkin' thoughts myself last night, but fought them off for another day...
Sober- praying for strength for you while visiting your family...that sounds tough, but you are one of the strong ones- you got this, girl!
Kailey- glad your daughter is doing better. and :goodjob: for fighting off those thoughts yesterday..Congratulations on DAY SEVEN!!!!:yougo:

Hi daisies,

So great to see the early risers! Happy Saturday! Day FIVE for me, yay!

One thing I am doing is for every day AF, I put a coin into a jar. The goal isn't to accumulate money (though that would be nice!) but to have a visual representative of the time racking up. Could be beads, or buttons, whatever. It kind of feels good to drop a dime or penny into the jar before I go to bed. Also, at some point it will indicate how much damned money I am saving by not drinking. Each coin times the cost of a bottle or two of wine? Prepare to be shocked and awed!

Bad night's sleep, daughter's blood sugar low all night so worrisome, and husband worked late. Was kinda sweaty and anxious, too. But, it could be much worse!

Everyone hang in there. We may all have moments of feeling vulnerable this weekend, so everyone stay tuned to our thread if you can.

Good morning Daisies,
It sounds like everyone has implemented some good strategies. I know this thread is a huge part of our success. I'm on day seven. Tonight might be challenging for me but I'm going to make sure I eat a nice big dinner before I go to a friends birthday party. Having a full belly makes it a little easier. In the past, I always saved my calories for wine and then I'd be blotto so fast I'd wonder what happened. Duh!

Good morning! It feels so good to be back in my own home with a whole weekend still in front of me! I'm going to give my continued sobriety 100% of my attention for the next few days. If I can make it to Monday, I think I may be heading into a few easier days.

Daisy - please check in! What drew me to this thread was the honest realization by many of us that as much as we want this, we keep falling down... and will never give up until we get it right! If you've a stumbled please don't feel like you can't come back. This is your home!

Sober Soul- I hope you are doing okay with your family. Some of my family are heavy drinkers and we have such long standing habits of all drinking when we get together that I know that will be a big test for me when I see them again.

ODAT, you are working at this so hard! Posting like you are is really going to pull you through these first days.

Ishybit - you and I are both on Day 7! Yeah, us!

Scottish Lass and Queenbug, I think you are on day 6, and Ann on day 5. How awesome would it be to head into next week starting week two?!? Sunshine, you are already working on week two! Wow!

Starfish - You are doing SO well and still find time to give so much support to everyone else!

K-9- You are leading the way! Thank you for giving us an example of what lies ahead for us if we don't give up.

I hope I didn't forget anyone. I don't normally have the time to do such a thorough check-in, but after being away for a few days, I really wanted to touch base with the Daisies!
