MossRose, I don't know you, but you're in my prayers. I liked what several people said. The time you have compared to one short period. Every time we mess up, we get stronger. You are here, you poured the rest out, and you're ready to continue your journey. God bless.

I'm in big trouble.
Good morning, MossRose :l
I hope you're not feeling wretched - you stopped yourself in the process and hopefully spared yourself that. Dumping that wine shows great strength.
Another thing Bren? Brown talks about is how we cannot love others more than we love ourselves. If that is true, we have to learn to truly love ourselves so that our love for others - your precious sons - can be all we want it to be. We wouldn't dump poison down their throats - and we would try to stop them if they were going to do it. So, we have to protect ourselves in the same way. Try to think of yourself as your child, and treat her that way. I know you're a great mom, MossRose - please get right back to nurturing yourself like you've been doing these last several months with the space clearing, morning rituals, and most of all, not drinking.
Everyone here sees that you deserve love and we love you.

Moss Rose, you had a hiccup and are now back on your amazing journey towards sobriety. You could have had a few weeks or months of drinking; instead, you got right back here and owned up. So proud of you for not skulking away for a long time. You are kicking this... post a lot. Looking forward to reading more of your amazing posts."If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading."

Hey Rose! I just wanted to tell you, you should be very proud of yourself for tipping away the last of the wine. That took real courage and strength. You had that victory over AL, be proud of it! :lWhatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it! ~ Goethe

I'm in big trouble.
I wanted to check in and let you all know that I am doing much better. I have quite the emotional hangover today, but it could have been much worse. I spent a lovely morning with my son - just being lazy - and watching a movie together. It was wonderful. Thankfully, he was working yesterday and doesn't know that I drank. I thought about confessing, but then I wondered what good it would do. I feel bad enough already, so I just have to make sure it doesn't happen again. Ever!!
I am going to stay busy this afternoon. I am in the mood to cook, so I'm off to the kitchen to whip up a few meals for the week. I love coming home to a meal, but don't always have the energy to cook on work days. So I plan to make a few and freeze them. That way, I can just pop one in the oven when I get home. And we all know how important eating is to recovery. I didn't eat yesterday. I should have known better.
Thank you again for all of the support. You saved me from myself.

Moss - So glad you posted last night and happy you're doing better today. Go easy on yourself and remember that you WERE strong! You trashed it and thus beat the beast! You're back in the saddle and right where we need you - posting and helping others as you always do!

Sounds like a good way to spend the day Rose! As for cooking, I get by with my George Foreman and my microwave, so if you have anything left over from your cooking, all donations are gratefully accepted! :H

I'm in big trouble.
I just got a call from my oldest friend. She told me that our friend's son died last night. An overdose. I want to throw up right now. He was so young. 25. No more second chances. No more chances, period! I don't even know what to say. Hug your kids. Stay safe. Talk soon.

Thanks Wine-no. No details yet, but enough to know that addiction has once again ruined numerous lives. My friend is so upset, she can't even talk right now. Just gave me the news and had to go. She promised to call back later. This just sucks in every possible way.

Just talked with another friend. It was heroin. I know it's easy for everyone to think - well what did he expect? But really, what is the difference? All drugs are evil. Even the legal ones.

Rose I stopped and started so many times. We all have our stories. Don't beat yourself up. I'm also sorry about your friend's son. Drugs and Alcohol rob us all in so many ways. Don't worry too much about the relapse. As I said, Ive stopped so many times ive lost count but eventually it clicks. TJAF - I agree - one day something clicks and you just know that you can't drink anymore. I can only hope that yesterday was the final moment of stupidity for me. Congrats on 90 days!! You are doing great, my friend. Star - thanks for the support.
Yes, today has been sad. We all knew he had problems, but he seemed to be doing so much better. I guess, we just never expected it to end like this. Kradle - so sorry to hear about your cousin. I wish I knew the answer. Why do some of us get second, third and more chances, and others don't? Lots to think about. Stay strong everyone. xx
