    Help!

    LoreLei

:goodjob: on taking the first step. The drinking and driving is like tap dancing on a land mine. I think we get away with it so many times, we become oblivious that we're f'ing up when we're doing it. I had people tell me "you're luck is gonna run out, blah blah blah." It didn't run out for years. And then it did. Twice in about a year and a half. I'm done with that, but I learned the hard way. Please don't be a stupid ass like me. I'm glad you are here. :welcome:
    where does this go?

      Help!

      Hi & Welcome!

Glad you found us! We've all been in similar situations. That's why I love this group. So much diversity.

Can't add anything more but nice to have you here.

        Help!

I left the note my neighbor gave me in my car that way I can read it before I drive to the bar. I've already had one DWI and severely damaged my nice car by driving while drunk. I would joke that my car "knows the way home" from the bar, but drunk driving is stupid and highly risky. I'd like to say my days of doing it are over.

          Help!

I can't believe how many times I have been so stupid to get behind the wheel and drive drunk. So drunk in fact that I don't remeber how I got home. But I did. Borrowed time. So glad you found us, and that we all get a chance to know you and each other.

            Help!

I am so glad to have found you too. Stuck here at the office by myself and stuck on a project. In the past this combination would have guaranteed that I ended up at the bar. I spoke with the BF at lunch today and let him know what was up. The plan is to go over his house and watch "LOST" tonight. We didn't get into the show until season 3 had already started, but we've caught up to the current season and are watching the episodes off iTunes.

              Help!

              Lorelei,

Thanks for your honesty. The whole drinking and driving issue has been on my mind since. I'm going out tomorrow night with a group of friends that I have not seen in quite a long while. I plan on drinking (with moderation), and because the whole driving and drinking thing was on my mind, I did a first ever. I called one of my friends who is going out also and asked her if she like to share a cab. She said yes immediately. One less thing to feel absolutely horrible about. I give so much credit to this program for helping me to change my mindset about drinking in so many regards. Hope you enjoyed your show!

                Help!

                Lorelei,

I think it's great that you've decided to do something about your binge drinking. I say this as a former binge drinker whose bingeing progressed into a full-blown drinking problem. I'm not trying to scare or alarm you, but it creeps up slowly. Pretty soon you go from 1 or 2 binges a week, to 3 or 4, to every night. I've even found myself packing away a bottle of gin in the middle of the morning, recalling to myself how it all started so innocently with binnge drinking on the weekends. Hang in there.
