    Drink Tracker General Question

I was trying to get started with the DrinkTracker on this site and can't decide how to count drinks. How many drinks should I count a bottle of wine as? If I know how to count a bottle I can do the maths to get half a bottle or 2 bottles (eek!).

    Thanks

    # of glasses in bottle

Squeaky Clean -- It has always been my understanding that there are 4 glasses in a bottle of wine. But one can rationalize anything ... at least I can ... La Liz

      Drink Tracker General Question

Stillcrawling, I am definitely your new best friend!

I was counting it as 5 "drinks" per bottle. All of a sudden I have not been drinking as much as I thought all these years. Until somebody else jumps in and spoils my celebration I will be "charging myself" 4 drinks per bottle on the Drinks Tracker.

      Thank You!

        Drink Tracker General Question

Hey, I have these really big wine glasses and usually a bottle is three glasses for me!
And I like getting those 22 ounce bottles of Guinness - cuz it's only one bottle... I could say, I only had four bottles of beer last night!
Funny how the mind works, eh?
        Hugs,

Crikey! I should have been drinking with you guys.

In Oz, the official measure is:

          100ml of wine = 1 standard drink, therefore a bottle = 7.5 drinks

          30ml of spirits = 1 standard drink

When you actually measure out the stuff, it hardly seems worth it.

I try not to think about what is accurate on Drink Tracker. My counting is based on 22 oz. bottles of beer.

they say that a glass of wine is 4 ounzes. and a beer is 12 oz.
so if you drink a a six pack it's the same as throwing back a whole bottle of wine.
              so the experts say.
but you would have to drink the beer real fast. to get the same effect as drinking a whole bottle of wine say the seasoned drinkers

                  Drink Tracker General Question

I'm with Tawney! All that time I thought I was drinking too much and I was really only having four...or was it only...three glasses of wine. Wish I'd been drinking with you guys too!!

Yep! Down here a 750ml bottle of wine contains 7.5 'standard glasses' - though I could NEVER manage to find a wine glass small enough.

                  Cheers,

                  RR

What? 7.5 glasses in a small bottle? No way. Wow. I would have had myself committed YEARS ago if that was our measurement here in the USA. Whoa. I have always said 4 glasses in a bottle, but according to medical doctors they say 5 glasses of wine are in a 750 ml bottle.
