hi im new and am desperate for help

Juney, like you I am new to this site, just found it the other day. I'm from the UK too. Just bought the book which I'm in the middle of, but just coming on here and reading all the posts has motivated me. Like you, I've been so worried about what I'm doing to my body - I've been drinking at least 1litre of wine every day and started hiding it during the day so if anyone came back early, they wouldn't find it. My mum is an alcoholic, 78 yrs old and she's given up on everything, all her family, everything. She's also got real problems with her kidneys. I don't want to end up like her. Today I've been to Holland & Barrett and I've bought the kudzu (though I hear its not as effective as the MWO one), L Glutamine, and Milk Thistle. My mum has had camprol from the Drs in the past but I don't want to try medication yet. Like you I feel as if I need to do something. I've been steadily drinking like this for 3/4 years, and like you family problems, stress don't help. I've given up before but 1 week/10 days is the longest I've gone. My family know I drink too much wine and they know I am concerned about how much I drink but I haven't let on exactly how much I've been drinking or how early in the day I start. SqueakyClean mentioned a diary - I've found thats been good for me. Take encouragement from all the posts, read the book - you can do it Juney. Best wishes, Janice

hi im new and am desperate for help

            My 10p worth...

Been taking 2 kudzu a day for a week and I think that it has reduced the cravings, I can put off starting until quite a bit later. I also haven't felt like drinking quite so much, or am satisfied with less.
On the downside it all goes to my head a lot faster and I am suffering "old fashioned" hangovers again. In the last couple of years I had stopped having head and stomach hangovers and was just mortally tired after a session.
I have reduced my alcohol intake to just weekends instead of every day virtually.

hi im new and am desperate for help

              Hello to you all,

Taking Kudzu and the L-Glut is one of the best things you can do, I have now been alcohol free for 7 months since starting them, but they are only a part of it.. Coming on here on a daily basis to post or just to read others posts is a big help.. Also something else which is very important for maintaing a healthy body are the AMINO ACIDS.. I had never heard of them till I joined MWO, when I Googled them to find out more I was amazed at what they do.. Basically they are the building blocks of the body and they have an effect on practically everything... You can either buy them from this site or you can get them from Holland and Barrett for about ?5.99...

Also don't forget to drink plenty of water, get some exercise, drink more water, eat as healthily as you can, oh yes, and drink lots of water..

              I wish you all well,

              Love, Louise xx

hi im new and am desperate for help

                Hello everyone, and welcome Juney.
I also take kudzo x 2 caps. 613mg 3x a day, I get mine online. Moderate drinking is not
an option for me. I try to log on mwo daily, eat healthily drink plenty of fluids,e.g. water
tea, fruit juice, and I have not had a drink in 9 weeks.( miracle). Take advice from people
like the lovely Irish lady, and others on this site, and it certainly is working for me.
So here's wishing you the very best.
                Love Paula.
                .
