Well done Softy for recognizing the beast for how it tries to lure us back in and for giving it the boot. You have that demon's mantra down pretty well. As I read the quote, I thought, wow, sounds familiar and reasonable -it almost got me too! Just for a sec though - it really is sneaky piece of shit isn't it?

Oh yeah - it can be charming when it wants to be - a wolf in sheep's clothing so to speak. No - it's not just you! The book Wine-no! turned me on to, Rational Recovery, speaks about this voice that we all hear. The rationalizations it makes, the endearing ways it tries to get you to come back. The book teaches you a method called AVRT (Addicted Voice Recognition Technique) that helps you recognize it and boot it out. I'm not finished with it but so far finding it very helpful.

Thanks softy. I can relate to these sneaky thoughts. Being sober is kinda getting very boring. Need to stay strong and not let that snake back into Eden. Things are good as they are now. Not exciting not crazy but good.
