Does anyone else long for something more?

I'm doing naltrexone for about a month now...seems to be having a modest effect..as would be expected. But I wish my mood would improve some. I can't seem to care about anything anymore . And I'm someone who would care a great deal about my life before this...which is scary for me.

It will come with time Six. The numbing our alcohol was doing will take some time to wear off then you have to deal with the emotions you were using the alcohol to cover up. Hang in there hon.

Is this a side affect of the Nal??? Or of being AF?? Or do u know why?

Sixcat - Nal has helped a lot of people to find a way to break their addiction. But I am one of those who couldn't take it. It robbed me of feeling - about anything - and I was extraordinarily depressed. For me, this was not the same as quitting AL - it was quite a different feeling (or non feeling). I am not saying this is what is happening to you but you might want to talk to a doctor or addiction specialist if you can. Take care.

With me quitting w/ out any drugs - it is opposite - every feelings is 100 times more intense - like before when I was on AL all feelings were under covers. I think with you it may be a side effect of this med - I googled it quickly and mood changes are listed there quite everywhere.

All I can say is, its a roller coaster of emotions. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows.

It should even out soon enough, the body is adjusting to a normal life again
