I have picked up some af beer which I have tried before. There is not much available but coopers tastes ok. Some diet coke and also tonic water with Lemon and ice is nice. I am taking AB so there is no way I will be swinging onto al drinks! Just so over al and what it has taken from me. Getting through Christmas is a HUGE step for me. I can't ever remember being sober on Christmas or boxing day. For that matter 4 nights of the week I can never remember much. I so hate al now and will be trying to support you guys and looking for inspiration over this very dangerous period. Keep in touch everyone.:wow::wow:ks.

Last night i decided to miss a family do. Family aren't too impressed, but they'll get over it. Anyway, i'll be joining family for christmas day lunch. I missed last nights get together because even though i would've survived it AL free, i know i am still feeling a little fragile, and though i'm blessed with a cool family, there are some potential triggers for me so i need to look after me first.

I know i must be ruthless with my sobriety at this stage and look after number 1.

I will be sipping my San pellegrino Limonata in the V.I.P. roped off area away from the commoners here who are drinking pepsi and coke. lol.

G. Its a selfish business. But lets not forget what al has done to us and will do again and again given the chance. Just one drink will allow him back in and cause our lives to be miserable!!! I will be around Christmas Day with all my family. If you need or want to PM please do. Our time Zones are similar.

Well Done, Look fwd to seeing you on here over the Christmas Period. Just been down to our bottle shop for some beer and wine for my kids and partners. I felt physically ill. There were hundreds of people there. Every damn row of bottles I went passed I swear I looked at them and said to myself " YOU bastard al, you have almost taken everything from me BUT no more!!!" I am not going to allow you to wreck my life for one more second.:thumbs::thumbs:

Just got thru a carol and cookie exchange party, with lots of adult beverages - feeling somewhat resentful and a little sad, but truly aware that I will be delighted tomorrow!
I have in sparkling pomegrante juice for the 25th, and a AF chardonnay grape sparkling juice that has a popping cork...Have not tried this grape juice, but I do like the pomegranate juice.
Sipping ribena and sparkling water just now, longing for a different drink - and signing on here for an attitude adjustment!:H:H

Good on you SL, Yes there will be many of us come on here over the next day or so wanting an ''attitude adjustment". My adjustment is pretty much taken care of by AB. although my last stint with this drug saw me cutting down the dosage by 50% and then started drinking again. How insane is that? Just shows how much al has a hold on us.

I'm in. I don't drink alcohol and I won't be drinking this holiday.

I really like sparkling water with a little bit of grapefruit juice for flavor. Funny that this is my AF drink, as I used to drink it with vodka - but it doesn't make me think of or want vodka any more. I have been "splurging" on nice teas as well, iced or hot. MUCH cheaper than wine...
