Am I too late after 50 years?

Good Morning, everybody. Golden Girls thread is a great idea! How does that happen?
We have had house guests since Sunday so Day 1 hasn't happened. They drink normally so I have cut way back. I have not even had the opportunity to sneak drinks because my sister is everywhere! Perhaps I should ask her to move in. No thank you! The point is I have survived just fine with only 1 cocktail and 2 glasses of wine a day. And last night I didn't finish the second glass. That is a first!
However, I am not lulled into thinking I have a new way of drinking. They will go home. I am hoping that this reduction for a few days will make stopping a little easier.
I love all the comments regarding renewed energy, interests, and opportunity at our age. I remain hopeful that I can be one of you.

Hi chicarosa. I've started a Golden Girls thread in General Discussion. Just look for it and read and post as you feel like it.

How great that you are able to moderate while you have company! :goodjob: That's just great when you think how stressful it can be - and your sister being all over the place is also stressful. So give yourself a pat on the back - it doesn't matter that they will go home and you may increase again.

      Take what you can get!!!

P.S. chicarosa you are already ONE OF US. :h We're all in the same boat - some have oars and some are passengers who need someone to row for them. That's what this support is all about. :h

Rosa - I just have to jump in and second Jazi's comment. You are one of us! There's no secret squirrel password.:H:H Unfortunately, addiction brings us all together, but friendship keeps us all together.

You did very well having out-of-town company and all. Hang in there. This is a process - not always easy - but so worth it.
Everything is going to be amazing

Company is gone and I'm back. I have been reading even though I haven't posted. I also discovered Drinkaware and that is eye opening, to say the least! Looking at the new light of day, anticipating the sunrise, and feel hopeful. Thanks to all of you,

Hi there, chicarosa, glad you survived your company in one piece!

So ok now - tell us how you did and how you feel. Inquiring minds want to know (or nosey ones!)
