fb is not goin to work
hi never and welcome. i used to a on fb all the time and now i hardly bother. Always adds for drinking or people saying how blind they got etc etc etc. my place of choice is here now, always someone around. if you head over to the newbies nest it always has someone there.
Why do you drink after 3 days? Is there a trigger like boredom or you are over the hangover? Are you eating properly or just eating?
We will always come across people that drink and its very hard in the beginning. I found that i stared at people who had a wine glass wishing it was me but it gets easier with time.
Whereabouts do you live if i may ask?AF free 1st December 2013 - 1st December 2022 - 9 years of freedom

fb is not goin to work
Hi NTL and :welcome:
This the the place and no doubt.
Keep posting & reading over the next week and you will get great encouragement.
You will be amazed eventually you will be drawn in to non-drinking things and meet other like-minded people.
Just take it all slowly
GoodLuck and go now and settle into the Newbie's Nest

Hi,
Your name reminds me of one of my favorite songs - http://youtu.be/Y0oIzCp8oQA[/video]]Never to Late by Michael Franti and Spearhead.
The best way I know how to get through day 3 and beyond is to create a plan. There are many ideas for how to form a plan in the Toolbox (in the monthly abstinence thread, or in the signatures of many members around here). If that is where you always fall, it will continue to be where you always fall unless you make a plan to do something differently.
You have found a great place to get help and support. My sister is meeting new people through Meet Ups - hikes, etc. that happen during the day, so not much drinking.
Hang on tight, it is worth it!

HI Never -that three day mark seems to be a marked problem for many alcoholics -and for me, it was always pure -he--ck. For me, day one was fairly easy as I was still hurting from my most recent binge. Day two was a little more challenging but I seemed to always do ok. Day 3 was REAL challenge. I think my mind was starting to clear from the alcohol and I was aware that I was about to face my reality -so to speak. The times that I did clear day three were usually those days that I forced myself to be with friends or family. No, I did not tell them what I was trying to do, but instead, I knew that my mind would be less focused on the alcohol. Ideally, I think being around other sober people for awhile sure makes a huge difference.
There were a few times that I spent my day three af hiking by myself. No alcohol available and I made them all day hikes in the mountains. So, at least for me, that seemed to work as well.
Good luck on your journey.
