You are not missing a thing....that drink did not make your friends have any better time, it was the fellowship. Its our alkie brains that make us feel like we are left out... Besides we wouldnt have stopped at that one and wouldnt have been HAPPY until we passed out, am I true?
Keep flexing those muscles and they will get stronger! Pity parties are unavoidable, but try to leave as early as possible! Your life is prolly 1000 times better AF, I know mine is. You did great!!!

Poppy, happy memories do not always translate into a happy reality. And you know that you can still have a good time without Al - that's why you went home and had an AF beer. Stay strong, Poppy - as you said, the feeling will go away.14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Thanks Byrdie. And Pinecone posted this in the 100 day club thread (yes, I'm a groupie stalker). I'm going to quit trying to figure out what happened last night and get on with my day. No more pity parties here!
LC, just before my two year anniversary, I started to have an irrational fear that I was going to drink. I posted about it in the "Well that didn't take long..." thread. I truly didn't want to drink but it bothered me to have those thoughts. I began to try to figure out what was going on which made me think about it even more. In the end all that thinking about thinking about drinking was really counter productive. I should have just taken the sage advice to just push the thoughts out of my head! Let's not reinvent the wheel here! We don't need to know what's going on it's simple: we are alcoholics and it's a sneaky ba$tard! All that wasted thinking, I could have learned a new recipe or something instead!
