The shitty feeling is detox. You sort of have to go through it I think. Drink lots of water and try to distract yourself? Time is really the only thing that's going to help right now I think.

Hi Ivan,
I'm guessing you're in the USA and thought these might help. Sorry but try as I might I can't find a central number for AA for you, but if you trawl through the link I reckon you'll find one in your state.

How are you doing tonight? The following is some professional advice. I would really regimens that you not try and detox alone.
"If your consumption of alcohol is high (over 20 units a day) or you've previously experienced withdrawal symptoms, you may also be able to detox at home with medication to help ease withdrawal symptoms. A tranquiliser called chlordiazepoxide is usually used for this purpose. If your dependency is severe, you may need to go to a hospital or clinic to detox. This is because the withdrawal symptoms will also be severe and are likely to need specialist treatment. Withdrawal symptoms
Your withdrawal symptoms will be at their worst for the first 48 hours. They should gradually start to improve as your body begins to adjust to being without alcohol. This usually takes 3-7 days from the time of your last drink. You will also find your sleep is disturbed. You may wake up several times during the night or have problems getting to sleep. This is to be expected and your sleep patterns should return to normal within a month. During detox, make sure you drink plenty of fluids (about three litres a day). However, avoid drinking large amounts of caffeinated drinks, including tea and coffee, because they can make your sleep problems worse and cause feelings of anxiety. Water, squash or fruit juice are better choices. Try to eat regular meals even if you're not feeling hungry. Your appetite will return gradually.Happiness is neither virtue nor pleasure nor this thing nor that but simply growth, We are happy when we are growing.

Ivan, with more you drink the worse withdrawals can be. They can be dangerous and may need medical attention. It gets worse on day 3 normally. So please go to the doctor, try to get pills that will take the edge off.AF since 10/20/2013

Be careful not to get dehydrated. That will make you feel much worse and can cause stress and damage to your internal organs. You may just need an IV with fluids. This is maybe too personal but keep an eye on the amount and color of your urine. If it is very scant or a dark color you probably need some fluids which would mean the emergency room. Possibly you could just tell them you have intestinal flu although being honest is best.

thank you for the feedback guys - i'm staying hydrated as much as I can and just hoping I become tired enough to fall asleep soon - i'm also hoping I can actually eat tomorrow but until then I'm taking multivitamins - the anxiety that comes with it is the worst - my family and friends are there for me also but just via text and Skype

I still think you should seek medical help but if it isnt something you feel you can do make sure you stay well hydrated and reach out to someone locally who can keep an eye on you. I see you are taking a multivitamin, make sure its high in vitamin B. Take a good B complex and one high in B1 (thiamin and 100 mg at a minimum). If you don't have access to a sedative try valarian root. It smells like hell but it worked for me. You can also try L-glutamine to help with cravings and Milk Thistle to help with liver damage. I made it through the night. I'm still sweating and my hands are shaking but I do feel better, I'm sleeping on and off for a couple hours at a time and staying hydrated as much as possible. I do have vitamin B and I have been taking in regularly. My mind is becoming clearer and I'm hoping I can eat something today. Thank you again to everyone that has offered advice. I literally felt like I was dying yesterday but I know this process just requires tome anf for me to be diligent about taking care of myself.
