    Deep down healing

Well this week has been one thing after the other.

The latest being I have been diagnosed with an incurable eye complaint, the important thing here is to stay calm and seek the best medical advice which I will. Yesterday I cried lots but I did not drink. Did not want to drink. At best this will be manageable with good diet and eye drops at worst I could have serious complications .It has not been caused by drinking but if I drank I would make the symptoms worse.

This week I have had other illnesses too, certain recurring things that I get. I need to build myself up now and holistically heal, let love flood into my life and get rid of the fear. I really feel that fear, anger, resentments are like toxins to the body. Also alcohol is a toxin too, I can't get near it as it is a poison.

Hey DD, good on you for Day 1 and glad you are thinking positive. One day at a time is all we can do. Sorry to hear about your health problems but as you know pouring al in our bodies is not an option when we have other problems. I know when i was drinking that i had bad anxiety (work, life etc), the shakes (anxiety, stress, life), bleeding gums (the preservatives in wine), it was so not the 2 bottles of wine a night i drank, al would not do that to me! Now i am not drinking i have none of the above, we can only try and fool ourselves for so long.

Hold those thoughts on AL. It is our own worst enemy.

Good Morning (afternoon to you guys) Diamond and Ava,

I was so tired yesterday I went to bed at 7:30! First time I've done that sober in 15 years. :H. So, here I am up at 2:30 am.

Diamond I am so, so glad to see your post here. And, congratulations on day one - so happy for you. And just think, by the end of today you will have doubled your AF time. It is amazing how quickly the days add up!

I am sorry to hear about your physical issues though. I do know, however, that the incredible physical benefits of being AF will help you. I also have eye issues - I used to have double vision (imagine what being blitzed did then!) and have prisms in my eyeglass Rx. Now double vision isn't so bad if your watching George Clooney :H, not so good otherwise. Fortunately, through meds, it's under control. And funny thing, since being AF, I feel like my vision is better. I can literally, and figuratively, see clearer now. Ha!

I digress. Stick with us DD - we're all here to help each other.

Hi Ava - wine was my lover too. So glad to have kicked that beast to the curb. I love your posts and personally, have no probs with the F-bomb. :H:H

        Have a lovely day/night,
        Mary Lou

          Hi DD,

The Western medical system tends to isolate symptoms and conditions, the organisation of the system reflects that in the specialisms.

The condition of the liver affects eye health as does the condition of other organs. All works together as an intricate interdependent system. The liver also stores anger, resentment, grief as toxins, and the kidneys fear.

Through the meridians of the body the liver is connected to the eyes and the kidneys to the ears. The gall bladder meridian, in particular, when blocked can create disruption in the overall functioning of the bio-computer that is our physical body.

Here is a link regarding the liver and eye health, there are many resources and sources of information if you feel inclined to research.

Look after your liver and your eyes will benefit | Liver Doctor

Follow the medical guidance of course but ultimately you are the one in charge, and you seem to already have a good understanding of the toxic effects of emotions such as you mention.

Sorry to read about the health issues DD but hopefully with a good general lifestyle it'll fall in the eye drop end of the spectrum and be something you can live with without too much disruption. Many of the minor issues fade away as the AF time increases and you begin to recover in yourself. Once you begin to notice things getting better - and it creeps up on you, you don't leap out of bed one morning feeling amazing you find it much easier to ignore booze. Other people will notice the difference too and ask what you've done to yourself.

Be prepared to let the good things drip into your life slowly and don't put yourself under pressure, easier said than done I know and keep on plodding, you're getting there.

DD, keep on trying. Stay here and read and pray. Life will get better. Read LB's post. She's an amazing woman. Read Londoner's post. Just read it and it's inspiring! Know that you can be that person, too. Everyone deserves a better life without Al.

                    Hi Maja,
Recently I had all my bloods and other tests done and they were all fine, including liver, so that is encouraging. Thank you for your info it was interesting, maybe my liver is a bit tired but the blood test was very reassuring in that it is functioning ok.
Also I do protect it with milk thistle.
