    Hi there
    Just started yesterday. I'd like to do moderation but think I always backslide and it might be easier not to deal with it all. Whatever you do good luck to you!

      Trust me on this one Padme, even if you backslide every now and again, you must always deal with it on some level, when you have a good day there's no better feeling, take a positive from every day no matter how bad you feel!

          A warm :welcome: Wimpey and I hope the support you will find here will help get you back on track and achieving whatever goals you set. You seem to understand yourself very well and have obviously learnt good lessons from your previous drinking experiences, so I look forward to hearing more from you!

          I know I can't moderate so have been AF for 73 days now - it's a huge relief for me not having to deal with alcohol each day - I find it easier to cope with the 'no I don't drink' rather than consider how much ,how often, dare I, should I? each day - my mind is more peaceful now than for many many years as the focus is now on what else to do - not not drinking...

            Hi Wimpey and welcome,

            MYO has been a godsend for me. I originally joined last summer, but didn't really commit to the program until March. Since March it has been a daily struggle, but I have managed to change my drinking habits. I was mostly an alone drinker these last couple of years. My drinking had reached the point of creating huge issues in my marriage, my health, etc...I really couldn't seem to stop the drinking. I'd inevitably talk myself into every chance I got. Then I really started to focus on this program, use the supps, and I log on every day to catch up on posts (which provides huge motivation). I had two FIRSTS this week. I did not drink FIVE days in row (today is day six) AND I have not drank alone! I credit these positive changes to the MYO community and the excellent program provided. Good luck! Look forward to hearing from you again.
