    Reached my limit!!!

Hello everyone - I have been watching this site, thinking "I can do this on my own" though I have failed moderation or abs several times. I experience many of the usual disease affects - hiding booze, drinking privately and secretly, drinking anything and everything that = alcohol. I have multiple health problems but am too addicted to take care of me. I had an alcoholic sister that died @ age 46, i've worked in health care for >30 years, and I surely should know to stop. My favorite saying "I am so smart I'm dumb"!! Looking forward to the programs help - where would you recommend I start??:new:

    Reached my limit!!!

Mac, there are quite a few health care professionals here, seems we know how to take care of everyone else but ourselves. I would suggest checking out the two links below. The Newbie's Nest is a great place to start! We have folks in ALL stages of quitting! It's fast moving thread and there is always someone around to help! The Tool Box, as the name implies, is stuffed full of 7 years' worth of tips and coping skills to help you. Read, post and engage in this site! There is always someone who has walked in yours shoes to help make the road a bit easier! You have landed in a great spot for support and the information you need to succeed! We are glad you're here! Hi, Mac.

The Newbies Nest (link below) is a great place to start. If you read back a few pages, you'll get the gist of what is going on and then when you feel like it, jump on in!
The toolbox also might help you - it is full of good ideas.

              Reached my limit!!!

              Hi Mac,

Count me in on that support train! One of the first things I did was write down the reasons I wanted to be alcohol free. From the heart. It wasn't easy but it was a wake up call. I reread that list a lot. And now, at 69 days AF, I have lots more to add that I couldn't have imagined, including much improved health.

I haven't been AF for this long in 20+ years. As incredible Brydie would say, Velcro your butt to this site. Read, post, repeat. We're all here for this same reason - to kick al to the curb and to support each other.

You go girl - we're here to help!

I agree with all of the above. You won't regret getting sober. I look forward to seeing you around!

Thank you all for your support, information and inspirational advice. I'm anxious to get AF & take my life back!!! Wondering about the CD's - I have been considering hypnosis but not offered in my community. This site is awesome.

Hi Mac, welcome and like you said, this site is awesome... I will give full credit to the people here for their unwavering support if and when I ever get to the point where I feel I am successful.

Speaking of sticking close to this site does anyone know how to make MWO appear on my android as an app or an icon like facebook where I can just click and voila, it opens. That would be very handy as, I too, NEED to stay close if I hope to succeed in my sobriety.
