    Just starting out

This summer I decided to "feel Better" which included cutting down on drinking at night to go to sleep. So far so good! I have started a detox program with a local organic food store and swimming class three times a week.
But I am just starting and I know it takes a long time to change a lifestyle! So here I am and knowing that I can communicate with others going through similar circumstances will be very helpful--I want to keep on my healing lifestyle!:new:

Hello Julianna and welcome. Your mind is in the right place. It's more about lifestyle choices and changes rather than "just not drinking." Good luck and best wishes.
In the middle of my life's journey, I found myself in a dark wood, as I had lost the straight path. It is a difficult thing to speak about, how wild, harsh and impenetrable that wood is. Just thinking about it recreates the fear. It is scarcely less bitter than death, but in order to tell of the good that I found there, I must tell of the other things I saw there. --Dante, paraphrased

      Welcome, Juliana!

Setting summer goals, birthday wishes, new years' resolutions... no matter what we call them, it's good to give ourselves the reason to start afresh.

No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.
