I loved it, for the perspective it gives. Did not make me abstain but changed my view quite a bit

Helped me with cigarettes and then the booze.
      I'm AF now.
Powerful stuff - gets you thinking differently about alcohol ad nauseum - nothing worse than a smug ex-drinker. LOL:H.

It helped me a lot. It changed the way I look at alcohol. Kind of old school, but easy to read and understand. Inspiring.
No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.

It's fabulous. It helped me reframe the way I think about alcohol. It made it much easier for me to embrace sobriety and quit feeling sorry that myself that I can no longer drink.
You had the power all along, my dear.

That's exactly it Kailey - it takes away the 'poor me' side of things & gives confidence that we are doing the RIGHT thing when faced with a 'drinking' situation.....
WE are not to be pitied ...... those still in the grip of alcohol are

I choose to believe that & it helps enormously.

I thought it was a good book, I also read the Jason Vale book which was the excatly the same?

Controlling your drinking takes more willpower than not drinking was a good point
Its easier not to start than stop

After reading it I came away with simple understanding of if you are not drinking you really don't have to worry about the what ifs. Once you stop worrying, then it becomes second nature "I don't drink". After many poisonings of my system, I totally got that point as well.

Now looks like I need to read Jason Vale's book.
