    30 Day June Club,goal, Drink Less/Drunk less be

    Have to keep it very short, need to clean for 3 days of houseguests. Lets see by gg counting starting on 5/21 when I signed on for 30 days af, I am 11af, 2 mod. Next 3 days will be a challenge. Jane and Adapt - I'm off to dr. too, woke with such a headache I was nauseaus but a bit better now. Good to see everyone doing well or picking up th epieces!

      Hi all,

      Well, I had 17AF days in April and 18AF days in May. I hope to have at least 19AF days in June. I also managed to cut back on my alone drinking time, although not completely. Last night I had one beer. I'm not a big beer drinker so that definitely helped, but more importantly, it wasn't a glass of wine. I have no restraint when it comes to wine. Today will be my first AF day in June. I'd also like to say thanks to everyone. This thread has been my favorite since it's conception. Good luck with moderation this week everyone!

        Hi everyone had a good weekend SAt and Sun af thats 5 out of 6 need to keep going, did 14 miles on my bike today and 11 miles yesterday. I hope we are not kidding ourselves with this way of counting but like I said before I am sooooo fed up of going back to day one week after week after week. Ive just had to get up after being in bed for an hour and cannot sleep. I watched a horror film called Silent Hill, It was horrible and now it wont go out of my head so I thought I would come on here and catch up again.

        Reteacher hang on in there.
        Louise at first I thought you said you were going to Clean for 3 days Phew just re read it:H

          I know its hard to begin the AF lifestyle and for me its been very difficult. As hard as I try I dont seem to go beyond a few days AF and the i binge for a whole weekend. I haven't tried the supplements or the Topa yet but am working up to it. My heart goes out to each and everyone in our search for a solution to our problem. This is my first post and I will try to become more active as time goes by. Thanks for listening.

            Welcome, Rick. I'm glad you found your way to MWO. The program and the people here have contributed hugely as to why I am drinking less than I was just a few months ago. I've read the book several times, and I log on here daily. You will find tremendous understanding and support here. Good luck.

              Well Houseguests are in bed so I'm just popping in for a minute. They leave tomorrow morning and the next set arrives in the afternoon. We had a nice dinner, I had selter and juice before while others had a wine or beer, there was great zinfindel to go with the lamb chops so I did have some, but actually left wine in my glass! I really did not want more. Garden Girl, I should have cleaned for 3 days but I spent too much time here! It is so dusty where I live so there is still plenty to do but it was good enough.Welcome Rick. :welcome: Lots of people are a bit hesitant about the topa and do without but I would encourage you to get everything else. I have no other explanation for leaving wine (a really good red!) in my glass than the hypno, kudzu and L-glutamine. I cannot remember the last time that happened. Hope the next two days are are easy - these next houseguests are also moderate wine drinkers so the temptation will be there.

                  louise, do you also do all the cooking your self? I was going to do a B&B, had 3 bathrooms put in the upstairs 3 bedrooms, but then county required wheel chair access and sprinklers. Did you have to have that put in?

                  I drank last night and I'm not sorry that I did. My hubby and I were working hard in the yard and then I was going in the make dinner and saw him sitting alone by the fire pit having a beer and I knew he missed me, I caved in. We had a wonderful evening together that for some darn reason we are not able to do without the beer. I guess I need to go for moderation and pray I can do it.

                    Hello to everyone on this new 30 days in June thread!!!!
                    I did do 30 days a few weeks ago now (with LOTS of drinking in between) and would love to come on board for another 30 days (my first day being today!!).

                    I am going through some big stressfull changes at the moment and I need to learn to deal with my life emotionally without the use of alcohol.

                    So I am going to be aiming to do the whole 30 AF as I have so far seemed unable to cut down or moderate.

                    To everyone else Well done on your progress so far.

                      a belated goodbye retteacher, have a good time.

                      i have now broken my (short) run of af. 6 days yesterday and on the sauce tonight. the last three days have been really hard. distracting myself, taking kudzu and l-glut etc to no avail. come monday and i'm on it again. i've got the remnants of a bottle of wine in front of me and its 8.30pm.

                      i will not beat myself up but i have to say that i am disappointed. i will start again tomorrow and still count the previous days as mentioned in other posts.

                      maybe its because i have no structure to my days as i'm a carer for my husband with 2ish days work if i can (my boss is brilliant)

                        every body seems to be doing very well by the threads. Good effort!
                        i am on day 5 for June and approx 4 weeks AF all up. I have good news guys ...the cravings for wine and the habit of drinking really do start to fade. I realised yesterday at 5pm that i hadn't thought about having a drink and that I was automatically reaching for the kettle to make a cuppa. Coming home from work was always my wine time...and it continued to be wine time till I went to bed!! When I think back to the mess I was in 2 months ago, I can hardly beleive this is me.
                        MWO REALLY DOES WORK!!!
                        the headaches are still a problem though. I took the clarantyne yesterday, Adaptable, and felt a little better. So will have another today. Got the Dr's tomorrow to discuss Topa ( i haven't taken that yet) mainly to try to stop the headaches. I wonder what her reaction will be??

                          Hey Everyone, congratulations on all of your success!! Really inspiring!! I thought since I finally made it to my 48 hour mark AF, just beginning my third AF day...the first in a VERY LONG TIME, I am now finally ready to get on this board and feel proud...today will be my first day back at work, so I am just gonna take it easy and try to finish off my day 3...then go through the same process tomorrow

                            No Adaptable, I'm not running a B&B - these are just friends visiting who happened to overlap so it felt a bit like that with stripping beds, remaking, etc. My husband did the cooking with my help - salmon tonight and I am stuffed. Only 1 glass of wine. It is a good feeling to see left over wine sitting around but after the guests leave tomorrow I'm going back AF for a while. I just don't want to get back into a pattern. Even though it was easy to stop, i sipped my wine, etc., I don't like having to think about it so much. Good to hear your inspiration Jane and hope your headaches clear. Congrats to everyone on their AF days and smaller amounts on other days. Have a good vacation Mary.

                              Sorry all - I had committed to keeping up with this thread. I think it's a great idea. I started Topa Friday and I notice a difference in desire for alcohol already, so it gives me hope.

                              But I'm having serious relationship problems. That makes me wish I could just get slammed and not think twice about it. But it's not that easy anymore. So I"m blue, so cannot even enjoy not being drunk. Just lay around moping, feeling awful, confused, sleepy.

                                sorry you are having a crap time..the emotional stuff can bring us to a standstill or worse still heading for the bottle!!

                                Maybe you need some quiet time to figure out whats happening in the realtionship, whats goos about ir, what you give to it and what you receive etc.

                                FEAR of the unknown can be a real issue when considering major changes cant it.....sounds like you have some serious thinking and decision making to do soon.

                                Get some support from someone you can trust ..it helps to talk and be honest without being judged.

                                I know its hard BUT if you can steer off the booze all the better as decision making can get all warped if under the infl;uence and sounds like you need a clear mind.


                                i find walking in the fields alone or by the river gives me chance to enjot solitude away from constant noise, phones people etc when i need to do some thinking in depth!!
