    Help

Hello my name is stormydog, and after years of drinking have found out that my liver function test is way too high, so have been told to stop for seven weeks and that have the blood test repeated.
I will be starting tomorrow, hopefully will be able to complete the seven weeks, do not think that i can go out and be social though.
Will get the book, but very interested in the cd. and maybe the medication. Any advice will be greatly accepted. :thanks:

    Hi, StormyDog and welcome.

So glad you're ready to free yourself! You'll never regret it.

A good place to hang out is the busy Newbies Nest. The link is given below. Also, the toolbox is full of great ideas.

I pretty much hibernated for the first few months - don't worry about being asocial for awhile. A new and better you will emerge when you're ready.

    :welcome:

          Help

          Hi Stormydog,

I agree with Sugar up there to not worry about social life if thats what it takes. Read lots and post as much as you like. There was something I read my first day here.. "Do Whatever it Takes !!". Yup..dont worry about what you do or dont do..just dont drink ( well dont go postal or anything )

            Hi Stormydog

Just a word of encouragement. I was a 35 year plus drinker with liver function tests that were completely wacked. After I quit drinking my results were normal! Good things happen when you get.

If you want to try a supplement that may help ( there have been some promising studies)with liver function try Milk Thistle. Read the label it should be standardized 80 percent silymariin- preferably a silymarin-phosphatidylcholine complex It is easily tolerated ( I take 1000 mg per day but that isn't necessarily the right dose)

Hi stormydog! :welcome: This is a great place for help and support, have a look around, read, and post! Nothing heals the soul better than getting things off your chest!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.
