Day 300! Great things have been happening in my life. I'm training to be a Dept. Supervisor...Me of all people! I still suffer from low self esteem due to alcoholism but I'm slowly realizing my real self worth as others and God sees me. You will be amazed at how much your life will change if you stick this out. Not that all your problems will vanish, but you will be better equipped to deal and resolve them, and open doors that may be closed.

Great thread! Will definitely get back to all the info.
Now focusing on getting in one week AF and getting used to actually eating again.
I remember a liver test result of mine 2 yrs ago that showed ZERO protein. That's why the thread caught my eye.
Interesting changes in the alcoholic body. Noticed my legs got slimmer and surprise, surprise ...my belly got bigger.
Protein and L-Glut works well together to build muscles again.
And then the smoothies and tackling candida.
Man I'm looking forward to a healthy body again!

        You inspire me!

Thanks for reading Just me. Alcohol really does a number in our bodies. When we start to undo the damage, is when we realize how damaging alcohol truly is. Big congrats on week one. Please stick with it. U will never regret it.

Thanks a lot Pie!. I in subtle ways the benefits of quitting alcohol are manifesting in different areas. I was thinking about leaving my job but my boss offered me a promotion with a a decent increase in pay. If I was still drinking, showing up at work looking messed up, missing days, leaving early...like I used to do, poor quality of work...none of this would have happened...

That's been my experience too, Liz. AF benefits materializing as if out of nowhere, but really a result of living in a way that's healthy and makes sense for me. Having a fully functioning brain makes a lot of difference, duh!
