Hey my Knee : I am here for you

    Hello My Knee,

I am so sorry you are hurt and broke,
But I want to tell you I am here.

You know very well I am a addicted brain
I was so much lost into Alcohol that,
    I took you for granted,
    I took everyone for granted

The only thing I thought of doing for last 10 years
    was just to drink
    But you where there
    as a loyal friend
    never questioning
    never asking
    just taking be back
    safely ...

I have been through worse times,
    Hell !
when I was drinking life felt like hell.
and I thought Booze was a break
I commanded you to take me to booze shops
I urged you to take me to nearest bar
I even told you to step behind that car
    but you always obeyed
    never questioned

    then I gave up AL,
and initially life was a mess
What I thought was life .... was a lie
But then I hung on ...
    you helped me ...
    those morning walks, evening runs
brought me fresh breath and life into me

    We learned new things
You took me to new places
    high up in mountains
    deep in seas
    lovely beaches
    all that helped ...

    then we learned new sports
    cycling ...
gave me what I was missing ...
    a natural high ...
You still followed my instructions to paddle
    and we went along ...

    hilly or off roads,
    crowded streets
    in cold or hot climate
    You were strong ...
And it all helped me to recover
from this ugly addiction I had

    Now you are broken,
    But you hang on there,
    I am here for you,
I will make sure that I get
all the cells in this body to you
    to heal ...
We have purified our body together
got rid of toxis and poisons
    removed so much negativity

I will bring all that to you,
    you take rest and heal
dont you worry I am here
    your loyal friend,
just like you were there I am here too,
You WILL recover, just like you always help me to,

Just lets those muscle relax, let that bone heal,
    I know it gets depressing,
    I too feel so bad,
kinda remind me of old days ,
    When I was trapped,
But then I think even though I cant walk
    I am FREE ...
    FREE to choose ...
I choose not to drink ...
    even in this misery ....
I choose to HEAL YOU ...

    Soon we will walk,
    will cycle,
    will climb the tallest mountain

    you just hand in there.

    Your best friend,
    Recovering Brain

    That's beautiful, Rahul!
It's really true that we don't appreciate things until they are gone, but yours is just out of service for a bit...when you get back on your feet, you will be better than ever.
Here's to a speedy recovery! Hugs, Byrdie

Rahul that's a wonderful sentiment. My worst sick day is better then my best hungover day.
No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.
