Evening army. Lovely poem Molly. I went to another AA meeting this afternoon and met a friend for coffee after so a nice day out. I'm not in to new years eve either and haven't been out that night for a long time. |I hate this ring in the new year crap so i'm usually at home on front of the tv watching a film or music event. AA are having a new years eve party at a hotel in Dun Laoghaire with some food a band or a dj so i might go to that as no drunks so should be a good one. off to get dinner so be back later. x Ahh poor Bess hope her tummy is a bit better this evening.

Enjoy your night Satz it should be a laugh anyway. Not a big fan of Mrs Brown but the tv show is funny. I didn't se the movie but it didn't get good reviews. Let us know how the show went he usually gets a crowd for that.

          Evening lovelies,
They have those AA do's here as well. A good few people I know from work go to them and enjoy them.

Never, ever liked a hot toddy.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Feck that Molly! Ur a shiny star for managing to do that without drinking. I've never, ever, ever managed to go out & not drink so u u need to be delited with ur nite out. I'm from Ireland meself so I understand how hard it is to socialise sober. Think my other half wud have a stroke if I came home after 3 hours too, think he's just do used to me 'going for one!!' He's probably like mine used to having that time to do wot he wants! Mainly sitting in his jocks, re watching sports! Lol ur doing deadly! Chin up

We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,

Love, love love this poem! Thanks for posting Molls x I wrote it down years ago, read it often, but it appears to have been mislaid! So happy to read it again.

Hope yis all are well or feeling better in your case Starty x

Hiya Gilf welcome to the Army! I'm not here very much now but Molls and Jacks and rest of d'army are the ones to keep you on the right track. The support here is priceless.

Evening anyone still up.. just home from the kids holy singalong - all the schools and the (many) local choirs and brass band.It was good.

Library's closing up already Molly? Sounds like a good night, sure what else could you be talking about after 3 hours, you see them every day!
Gilf - how are you doing today? I went to bed early a lot at the beginning, to make the day shorter!
                  Night Spea.. and anyone else.
I suppose Satz will be out till all hours, f-ing and blinding! Major brownie points Satz - I think Mrs brown would drive me to drink!

Hey, I haven't been in work this week so I've just been sleeping whenever I need to! Finally did the Xmas decorations & spent hours cutting out paper snowflakes! Also ended up painting the dining room!! Just trying to keep occupied & busy. I figure I'll just do that for the mo & deal with the rest when I'm a bit further on. My witching time is 9.30 so have to do something different from now on! Brought the dog for a walk earlier & stupidly went straight past the off licence! Rookie mistake, but I'll plan better tomorrow!

Good for you Gilf, you can admire all your handy work as well as feel very smug with yourself!
                      Another day chalked up:goodjob:

6ish was my witching hour, it was 9 once upon a time! It feels like a void at the beginning, but mostly not anymore.

Better hit the hay, chat tomorrow and well done.

                        Morning lovelies

Good to see you Gilf, you are doing great by the way. The beginning is hard to fill time, but later on you will wonder how you had time to drink!!

Molls, is he jealous that you can enjoy yourself at the pub without drinking? He has quit too hasn't he? Good for you not letting him bring you down. Hope he is in a better frame of mind today.

I had some horrible drinking and using dreams again. It has left me a bit disturbed tbh. But I know the drill. This too shall pass

                            Morning all,

                            Hello to you, Gilf. :welcome:

Off to the doctor's this morning.........been feeling a bit chesty so thought I'd get it checked out just in case.

Mr JC's off today so after the doctor's its off for a coffee and I'm giving him a list of presents that we still have to get............for some unknown reason he likes the shops when they're heaving.

Oh and off to see my godson's band tonight. Nice bit of moshing and headbanging will be the order of the day.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

morning all.. quick wave.. late as usual!

Molly - did joe recently retire/give up work? what is he doing these days?

JC, seriously, its a viral virus! Hope you get something, did you sleep last night?
Foxy - nothing worse that lack of sleep - have you much on today? Yep, Starty I have the drinking dreams on occasion, but I don't remember my dreams most of the time, thankfully, cos they play on my mind all day, even when they are relatively innocent.

                              Better FLY..... later.

Well I made it back. It was PACKED.
What does 3 Arena hold - 10,000 - to see a bald man dressed as a woman?
'nuff said about it - my mother loved it so it was worthwhile.
Well done GILF you are doing great !!

                                Off to read back
