Site owner/administrator contact?

Hi,

I've been trying to contact an administrator or basically ANYONE involved in the running of this forum for almost a week. I applaud the site and think it's great there is an outlet for support to be sought from the comfort of one's home and anonymously. Fortunately, I personally have always enjoyed sobriety, but it is apparent someone has taken out a(false) profile on here using my legal name. This is extremely distressing, especially given that my career path is within the hospitality industry and hence, an implication that I have a drinking issue could very well affect my employment opportunities and furthering my career. As this falsely named profile is obviously inactive, I believe this has been taken out(with obvious disregard to terms of use) by a former partner as an act of malicious discrediting. I am simply seeking to have my legal name removed from this site and by default, google searches. In fact, if it is possible to restrict membership visibility from google, this would both ensure anonymity for current users as well as protect this forum from further incidents of being utilized for malicious intent.

Could anyone help me with who I could contact regarding this matter? It would be most appreciated. lease:

To be perfectly frank, avatar names are just that - There is little chance of an administrator being able to restrict this snippet of information being crawled by googlebots without restricting total googlebot crawling, which as this forum appears to be paid for google adverts is not going to be an option

I would expect it is something you are going to have to live with

I believe, considering it's use of my legal name in a manner that has the possibility to affect my ability to earn a living, there would have to be some way for an administrator of this site to help me(I would never use my legal name online, that is utter madness!). Most likely, to simply request a name change of the profile or removal of it if co-operation was not forthcoming would suffice.
If not I'll have to seek legal advice, as it's extremely distressing to consider the myriad ways this may affect my reputation, socially as well. When you think about it, it's exactly this kind of thing that can drive some people to drink really, isn't it!? Hopefully the site owners/admins can show some understanding and realize this is indeed positive feedback, regarding a very very reckless flaw within their website that they would only benefit from working with.
I wish everyone on this site all the best, but also, I very much take my online presence(which is otherwise nil) VERY seriously. Lawfully, no one has to "live with" fraudulent online impersonation intended to discredit. There are actions that can be undertaken, I am indeed doing my part by bringing it to this sites attention. If no help is to be forthcoming, it will sit squarely on this sites shoulders as being reckless and neglectful in providing action to rectify damaging information published within their site. Keep in mind, I'm taking this seriously, not only for my own sake, but for all men and women this could happen to. It is an issue to take very very seriously, though sadly perhaps one that women are more "used to".

Yes, I'm almost 100% certain there is, so far, no one else on the planet with my legal name. I make certain that my name is kept private, for very real security reasons. I have successfully had my name removed from a couple of other sites recently(very easily apparently, and consequently no longer appearing on a google search) These sites contained nothing that could be considered damaging. I imagine it would be a simple process to remove an inactive profile which, in all likelihood, has been taken out in violation of terms and conditions of this forum.
The person imitating me has apparently made one post, with references that could be considered identifiable with my character, however in an untrue manner.
I am taking this matter very seriously, though it is in my interests to work WITH this forum rather than against it to have this situation resolved. And, if many people were to have my complaints, I imagine it is very much in this forums interests to consider my concerns and requests too. Plus, I appreciate the forum being what it is, however, I have great concern regarding my legal identity being represented as something I am not. It's a learning opportunity for both sides.
I'm not here to cause any difficulties but I am most certainly anxious to have my name back to it's rightful privacy, particularly as it concerns my employment. Any help would be enormously appreciated.

Are there any other administrators I could contact? I can't seem to find a page with a list of Admins/site owners, and having used the contact form 3 times, I'm fairly certain that is unmanned.
Again, all help would be greatly appreciated. I'd appreciate having this cleared up before I look for a change in employment next month. I have no doubt it would be a fairly simple maneuver, considering the ease with which other websites have responded to my requests.

unfortunately the above email address bounces back as no longer active. Is there anyone professional associated with this site who is contactable at all? Or it's just completely un-moderated and lacking in any guidance/safety regards to "terms of use" violations and online identity theft/privacy?
I'd prefer not to pursue this through vBulletin, but if I can't get any responses I'm truly left with no other options for such a simple request

youre right, it would. when the site was updated last year, we were given the name and contact of zach as administrator. guitarista gave you his username. this intimated that the site would from then on be looked after more often. im sorry youre having such trouble over something that should be simple. someone must look here occasionally a member was recently banned, though they didnt appear to do anything else to/with the site.

Have a look at the whois entry Mywayout.org Whois Lookup - Who.is - Who.is maybe you can find some contact details there

Alternatively run a couple of those names through "white pages" and see what pops up

RealDeal, I'm sorry this has happened to you. We members don't believe the site is moderated any more.

I did look at one of Bac's sites, I think it was Who Is, and there are a couple of contacts in Alaska and that is where the original owner is from. Good Luck, this never should have happened.
