Vitamin B complex Mega way to go

All the times I've tried to quit , A good vitamin B supp has always helped with beer and smoking cold turkey and I mean at least 10 a day and 25 - 30 cigs/day . I use this twice a day for the first week , then cut back to 1 a day on subsequent weeks

Last week I hit day 2 and felt funny and had ran out of Vit B. same as when I've tried other stuff. I do have Valium on hand as backup but always found I can get through with a good vit B supp without even touching the Val. A must for any quitters toolkit as far as i'm concerned and think this will really help those stuggling

    Thanks Neo,

What exactly does it help with? I take B vits but probably not a big enough dose

Found it helps with any panic attack moments and keeps me calmer. Have been using 2 a day and other than some restlessness, don't feel too bad. I tried last week ,first time I quit without it and fell really funny on day 2 so know it is having an affect on me. Eating well too . Tried phenibut last week and was great but have been off it until next week till I get past the first initial days

I've taken a B complex religiously since becoming sober. You wouldn't think a vitamin has the power to do this, but during the early days, I could actually feel myself becoming calmer within an hour of taking it.

Starty, here's the breakdown of the B complex I take. I just buy it off the shelf:

          Thiamine 100mg
          Riboflavin 20mg
          Niacin 25mg
          B-6 3mg
          Folic Acid 400mcg
          B-12 100mcg
          Pantothenic Acid 5.5mg
          Biotin 300mcg
          Vitamin C 200mg

Last time I was in rehab, I've had some of the best therapists I've ever had, and one of us told us about high-dose thiamine 2-300mg 2-3x per day to decrease anxiety and cravings for alcohol, but as always, consult a doctor beforehand!

Mr. V., I just get it at Costco. It is their store brand, Kirkland Signature. But I think those proportions would be the same in just about any brand B complex.

If your in Australia, I have used the Swisse multiple times cold turkey from heavy drinking & smoking and have never had a problem using 2 x day after a meal and not needed Valium even though I keep it on hand just incase .I have tried without Vit B but found I get withdrawals into the 2nd day . For free time release, eat after a meal. B vitamins are water soluble and shouldn't be taken without food
