Ssd - good for you for hopin right back on. I don't think I'd want to pay to have my hair cut and colored by a stylist drinking. Of course, that never stopped me from coloring and cutting my bangs while smashed. Jeez - talk about insanity. I once went to a single-seat salon (owner operated) and the lady doing my hair stepped out to smoke some weed while my color was processing. When she came back she asked if I wanted my eyebrows dyed - something I never do. But that day I was changing my color and said "Sure!" I looked like Groucho Marx for nearly a week.

Re: Please not again!
ssd, we sell wine here too, i used to love getting my hair done but that would start me off earlier than normal. i remember early in my quit i got to 11 days and then 40+ days and thought i could moderate, well for gods sakes i had never done those days sober so i had it in my mind it would be different this time. Well that was an epic fail and i felt exactly the same as you. What a waste of those days, but they werent, they showed me what being sober was like. that i could do this if i had done it before and it gave me more resolve that the next time i would not listen to that al brain of mine as obviously it had no idea what it was talking about.
Keep up the good work, Rome wasnt built in a day, i always say to myself.
Mary thanks for the laugh this morning, OMG what were you thinking!Last edited by available; June 16, 2017, 06:41 PM.AF free 1st December 2013 - 1st December 2022 - 9 years of freedom

SSD--
We're here for you. I was so sure I could moderate that I never committed to quitting. I suppose it was a way for me to deny that I "failed." Nevertheless, it was not a straight path for sure.
I hope you're doing well today. Every day sober is a win. String some together and watch out.

Re: Please not again!
Haha Marylou! I had my eyebrows tinted before and I think this almost always happens! They go a bit dark because they fade quickly. I never did it again.
Yes Ava! I usually get my hair done around 2 or 3 which means I drank pretty much from then on! At 90 days it was like a switch flipped and I began thinking I could moderate. I think I made 2 days of keeping it at 2 glasses. Then right back at the whole bottle of Chardonnay! We become enslaved again in no time.
Thank you Pav:happy2: I made it through day 1 and am onto day 2. So happy to wake up on a Saturday morning feeling better about myself.Last edited by ssd858; June 17, 2017, 10:36 AM.
