Good advice and links there Mario. Scots just stopping isn't enough we need to make lots of changes, personally I have failed often, probably because I didn't have a definite plan.

Re: The witching hour
It is going to be my first day Tuesday. I think shoving crap food is a bad idea when quitting as you are making another bad habit. I would focus on a good Mega B+ vitamin and stock only good foods in your house. Grapes, bananas, blueberries ,yoghurt, protein powder for quick meal, salmon, good steak, veges, rice If you eat icecream, have it with fruit and get rid of sugary/processed foods
I stock small tins of tuna for a quick meal and can be put with pasta
Maybe just 1 bad vice is I discovered a good cheap frozen pizza at supermarket lolLast edited by Neo; April 15, 2017, 01:47 PM.

Re: The witching hour
Hey guys,
howdy,
Still here, still going, day 12, no big dramas, been tempted but beat it easy.
I think the single best thing was being told, its the witching hour but it passes, n I'm sorry cant recall who, but thanks,
I look at it like that, it does it passes n after that hour, I dont even feel need to drink.
Im on naltexane, but often forget to take it, and no feeling of need to drink, mind you its supposed to be a quick acting drug, I might stop it soon, but keep on hasnd of course.
See point 5 in this article below

Well done Scots!
What dose of naltrexone do you use? They are now using low dose naltrexone for loads of different things....I have just ordered some for a dog I am treating for autoimmune disease (I am a vet) and it is a fascinating drug

I use a 50mg tablet cut in half, so 25mg, I only mention the 50mg cos I think thats what they come in.
I dont even take it every night now, used to take just before 5pm my drinking time.
I tend to keep one in a small pill box n keep with me just incase i get the urge, I dont anymore, but when i did it would take effect in 15mins n urge go away. It works on receptors in the brain.
Very CONTROLLED here in Oz, my doc has to ring a national control centre to get authorisation to prescribe, thats to stop me going to several different docs and getting a heap of it.
Its good stuff, recommend it to anyone.
