Hello Friend, I wrote this on a flight thinking about a cycle race which I participated. Which was 180km round trip of lake Geneva in Swiss.

Sometime I get in this mode when I feel like writing
... Browsing old pictures of me riding a bike
Far away in swiss alps
Oh what a day it was... cool but not cold,
Not a sign of could in Sky..
Freshness in the air
Geneva lake sparkled and reflected the Blue of sky
6 am am so the ride starts.
3000 cyclists
Riding across Lake Geneva 180 km.
Nice long day cycle it was meant to be...
Starting from swiss size into France
then back to Swiss.
What a ride... 6 hours it took for me to complete
Wish it was longer as I could have enjoyed more
but then they all were here to compete..
But not me!
I was here to celebrate...my sobriety
3.5 years and how it has changed me
Transformed me from alcoholic to
whatever sober me I am today...
Yes it was quite a spend to travel all the way to swiss
"Just to ride!" you are crazy - asked my friends
How do I explain what joy it has been to
put drink and booze money I saved every single day..into flight ticket... For this event.
Travelled there just for 2 days.
My my bike and my backpack...
Felt free.... SO FREE!!
What a joy it was to celebrate my sobriety!!
But then here I am mid air in a flight
Listending to Yanni
Seeing these pictures of me riding
Encouraged me to write and share.
Then I go back in time... to my childhood
What made me? All the hardships of life
Shaped me.. Made me
First, second or third heart break
Friends deceiving,
Family disowning
Employee betraying
Its all the same..
I feel the plane's landing gear getting deployed
Soon I will land back to life
Phone will ring
Emails will start...
And I will forget about this moment of clarity I had
In mid air
With my sober mind
Thinking of good and bad times
Listening to same music
Which I listened
After blowing my alcohol money on a
Flight to ride across lake bike across Geneva
