    Antabuse

I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences with using Antabuse.

Is it available on the NHS?

    Re: Antabuse

I used it when I quit in 2012. It was very helpful for me but I was determined to stick by the rules. I only used it for around 4 months or so.
In contrast I couldn't take Naltrexone as it seemed to just make me very very flat in my mood. I dont live in the UK so I cant advise on the NHS.

      Hi Londoner

I used it and I have 4 months now. It is usually 250 mg, which I cut in half and take 125 mg every 5 days or so.
Drinking with it in your system is unpleasant. I would assume that a daily dose would make the effects of drinking
much worse, but the ones I've experienced are bad enough for me to never be that stupid

I've never been game to try it and Ive read some horror stories around it. The anxiety of alcohol scares me enough and I don't want that after a drink or 2. I'm going Baclofen route to see how we go
