How to start Topamax? Advice Please?

All:

I just got my delivery of topa today. I have to admit that i'm a little nervous about starting. I'm 5'6" and 135 pounds. My reading leads me to believe that I may want to get to a dosage of 175-200 mgs to feel the effects. How should I start and increase my dosage? Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Karen, make sure that you only dose up 25 mg every week... Too soon and you won't give your body a chance to adjust .. take it nice and slow... same thing if you choose to take less... nice and slow.. My Psychiatrist administered 25mg per week increasing each week 25 mg too 100mg. I dont think I want to go any higher than 100mg as thats when the side effects start.
