I'm sorry the topa didn't work out for you. I don't have any more experience with it than what I have posted here. Maybe read more on the boards and see if Campral or something else might work for you instead. I was actually doing very well with just the Kudzu and glutamine and multivitamins. I just kind of tried the topa out of curiosity although I must say I really like it. The kudzu definitely is a great help on its own. Are you at least able to take the Kudzu and glutamine?
Let us know if you try something else and are successful with it.

      Good luck

I don't know what went wrong with the topa with me. I have been following the schedule, titrating the way I am supposed to. I was up to 50 mg AM and 50 PM and on Wed. I started craving. I should have known then and there it was time to titrate up, but I didn't do it then...kinda (ha) gave in on Thursday, but Friday I upped to to 50mg AM and 100 mg PM (as per instructions (and caved in again last night when hubby took me out)...at any rate I am on that dosage for now and hopefully will be on track and doing okay. Kicking myself after these few weeks of doing so well, it really was a shock to have this happen after not having cravings and doing so well, just came out of the blue and am so disappointed to having caved in like I did.

luvmypups... just keep on going. This isn't a race! This is a lifestyle change and that takes time and being kind to ourselves. I am glad you are choosing to continue the topa. I think I may kick up to 75mgs tomorrow just to see how I feel. We shall see... last night I had a crave-attack, but I pushed through... I don't want to try that agian, though. Better safe than sorry for me. I'll keep everyone posted on my dosage...

I started 25mg topa last night. My stomach is upset however I drank very heavily yesterday so that could be why. I do have a funny taste in my mouth. I haven't tried pop yet. I plan to be AF for two or three months and then will decide if I will try moderation. I've been on a 3 week binge so today will be my first AF day in a while. I started the book yesterday. I hope to finish it today. My first big test will be Sun. We have friends coming over for the Bears game. I do not have any non drinking friends. Any tips for getting through?

The upset stomach is probably from the drinking. Dose up slowly on the topa - 25 mg per week and keep checking in here. Good luck to you with it.

Advice - see, how do you watch football without beer? that is a tough one. I guess the best thing to do for today is tell your buddies you have an upset stomach (the diarrhea thing always works - no one wants to fool with that excuse:H ) so you can't drink today. Stick to soda today. I doubt it will taste bad since you are only on 25 mg and only for one day.

We will have to figure out a more long term strategy for you to deal with the NFL season, though. Maybe post something on the forum which is just for guys - they might have some advice. And while you're there, read xtexan's post there - it is hilarious.

              Good luck

I'm sorry I just re-read your post and for some stupid reason, I assumed you were a guy - guess it was the football talk. Anyhow, try the upset stomach thing for today anyway. We'll come up with something more creative long term

a change in the last 2 days!

Hey I wanted to tell you all, if anybody is still following this same thread. I posted a couple of days ago about the skin crawly feeling. Well, that feeling suddenly went away the next day and I am still taking 25 in the am and 25 in the pm.

Here's the cool thing, for the last week I have kept it from 0 - 3 drinks a night without any white knuckling. I even poured wine down the sink because I was going to bed. Unheard of in the last 4 years. And this week included a lot of drinking occasions -camping, bbqing, wedding, football too! I wonder if I should go up to 75 as planned, or keep it here? I am very excited. I am also taking the AllinOne, B50 and the Magnesium.

I have been trying this program for around a month, but not any real feeling of success until these last few days.

                  Cheers to everyone - Much

That's fabulous. I would stay at 25 for a while, but you might want to try 50 in a week or two - maybe get the drinking down to zero. Keep us posted!!!
