    Need some topamax advice

Today is day 5 of 25 mg topamax. I would like to start taking 50 mg tomorrow. I would rather start the 50 on a weekend in case of bad side effects also weekends are the hardest not to drink for me. Is it too soon to move up to 50? Are the side effects much worse at 50? Thanks for any help.

Everyone is different. I would say if you have had no real problems with 25, then it probably is a good idea to try to move to 50 on a weekend. I didn't notice much of a difference between 25 and 50 except I think i felt more tired at 50 but that was temporary. You can go back and check my thread "I started topa this week." or something like that.

Go for it. Let us know how it goes.
Rest in Peace, Bear. We miss you.

CD, I agree with Mags, the weekend might is probably a good time to move up. I didn't feel any difference at 50 either. I felt a little fatigued at 75 but that has left me. I'm at 100 now and that is where I'd like to stay. It seems to be working. No side effects. Good luck! Have a good weekend everyone.

ditto.. I would go ahead and try.. I didn't feel too tired. I do take all mine at once, thought. I think Mags does, too. Some people take it an/pm, but I really like taking it all at once at around 4pm. I only drank in the evenings, so I felt it was only necessary at night. I also didn't mind being tired at night. If I was going to a movie or something I would just have a cup of coffee..
