How long on Campral?

I take Campral and notice no difference. I just reach for it on a more timely schedule when urges come on me. I'll do whatever it takes to stay clean. I cannot really feel the effect of Campral? I take it as directed.

Anything better out there to take?
Almost 60 days.....

One of the reasons I want to quit drinking it that it's def. added to my waistline. I read in the literature that weight gain can be a side effect of Campral ...

My doc just started me on it today (yesterday), will start today 12/13/07 after I get home from work (afraid of wierd effects, which I am prone to) I need to do something, Topa didn't work for me, though it does for many people on these boards

I have hight hopes and am determined to go AF for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time! I am just tired of trying to "control it"(drinking)

If anyone could give me any feedback on this, I would greatly appreciate it, didn't drink last night, and you all can see I am up at some ungodly hour(2AM) I have a very busy day tomorrow, so don't want to drink...............I hope this works??!!

Love all the support I have gotten on these boards, please pm me w/ any information(good or bad) on Campral...............

How long on Campral?

My results on Campral are:

None in terms of craving and I do get a little gassy from it..

But, my understanding is that it helps your brain chemistry get to pre-alcohol state faster. So, it is a good thing.

Others have sworn by Campral's anti-craving effect.

I think my drinking is very psychological and a med just isn't going to get past my darned brain. I have to do that one on my own.

Best of luck with it, MA. It is a good thing to use to help yourself get better quicker.

How long on Campral?

I just started Campral today. Others in my AA group have used it for the last 6 months, and feel that it definitly cut back on a craving for alcohol. They use just 1 333 mg pill in the AM, but my doc prescribed it 3 times a day. Time will tell, good luck with it

How long on Campral?

I tried it with a mix of wellbutrin @ the begining of the year. Started both @ the same time, SO can't say for sure what caused my problems. Couldn't stay on it for long due to some unacceptable sexual side effects.... Stayed AF for about a month.
Now on lamiktal, and my dr just prescribed me the campral again (at my request). Has anyone else had the same effects?? When I quit the campral, my problems seemed to go away, BUT my dr also switched me off of wellbutrin after a month.
Just really need to know what I am walking into....
