Vivitrol-Amount of Time Sober?

Hi I'm new to this site. I recently started researching Vivitrol. I have heard that you need to be sober for at least 7 days prior to your first injection? I can't seem to make it past 3! Does anyone have info on this?

I say my doctor yesterday, day 2 AF, to talk about options for withdrawals and he suggested the injection. I'd never heard of it but I thought it sounded a lot better than taking a pill everyday. EXCEPT that if he didn't have any samples to share with me that it would be $1500 PER injection! Anyway, I was 2 days AF and he gave it to me. I'm feeling pretty sketchy, combination of things right now. 1)withdrawals, 2)shot of drugs in my arse, 3)too much caffiene not enough food, 4)husband doesn't understand, 5)did I mention withdrawals?????

Anywho...I got the injection on day 2 AF. Wish me luck. I wish you much luck also!
