    Antabuse Thread

    NotThirsty,

    :welcome: Glad you are here!!

Hopefully your head doesn't fall off from the River Pharmacy pills. I think others here are taking them, though.

    Good luck!!

I would recommend you download and read RJ's book if you can. The supplements will help make the AF journey a little easier and help you feel better faster.

Look forward to getting to know you.

      Thanks, Cindi.

I actually have the book. Haven't made my way through it yet, though.

I think everyone here knows they can't drink anymore-- that is EXACTLY why they are using the Antabuse-- it is a willful decision to make sure they don't drink. I haven't noticed anyone whining (except you... or is that bullying?).
Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life... And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

Thanks everyone for your info and advice. I did a little more research (google "side effects) and saw that its nor recomended to take antabuse if you are epiliptic, so that us probably where u had the whole "seizure" side effect from. To all my friends here, this seems like an awsone websight, which I have yet to check out fully(on a phone). But I pray for you all and look toward to chatting with you(and also filling out my profile)!!!!! Take care!!!!

Hmmmm, thirst4romance doesn't sound like a happy chappy to me.......

Day 13 for me on Antabuse and I feel great. It's interesting how my mind works re - drinking. I am having little or no thoughts about alcohol. No cravings to speak of. I really do think it is because I accept that I am not able to drink (because of the tablets). I find it quite liberating.
I would like to get to a point where I do that naturally...without a tablet. But at the moment, my world is 100% better.

To everyone else using Antabuse,....would love to hear how you are all getting along.
Here's to another Alcohol free day!!!!

                Amelia,

Antabuse is a Godsend for me, too. I simply could not get any significant time under my belt without it.

I have very few side effects from it other than I can't drink.

I will be taking it for a very long time.

I am so glad you are doing so well with it, too.

                Love,

                  Hi Cindi and Dolphin,

Cindi, thanks for your message. I really don't think I would have thought about giving Antabuse a try if I hadn't followed your progress - so thanks again for this thread.

Dolphin, I can see myself being on AB for a while too. It is just so wonderful not to have to deal with that constant white noise in my head concerning alcohol!! And yes, I am saving lots of money too.

                  xx

                    Antabuse Thread

Hi, everyone. Today I fly to St. Louis, which is a huge trigger town for me. Lots of casinos, which is a drinking venue if there ever was one.

However, I am a Black Jack player. (I kinow many here will disapprove but that is what I am.) And I will go and play. I am working towards getting into some tournaments and this is a golden opportunity for me.

Believe it or not, this is what I would like to do when I retire.

                    Oh well.

However, because of the Antabuse, I not only know I can't drink, I won't drink, I will play sober. When I play sober, I do very very well. Last time I walked away $750.00 ahead.

Thank God for Antabuse, because, trust me, the waitresses start coming by frequently when the player is doing well. Hmmm. I wonder why??

                    Love,
                    Cindi

Best of luck with the Black Jack Cindi!!! My brother used to be a Black Jack Croupier in a big casino in Australia. When I met up with him last he took me to a casino (a first for me) and played Black Jack. He won loads......I on the other hand stood behind him telling him to STOP PLAYING after every round he won......I'm a bit chicken when it comes to gambling!!!

Thanks for this thread. I've been reading every word and started the antabuse a week ago. A sort of vague afternoon headache and a perchance for catnaps seems to be the only side effects so far. Of course, walking around without a hangover is a strange feeling also! xxx g.

                          Antabuse Thread

I just received my Antabuse. I have done endless research and have read this thread everyday for 3 weeks. Drug interactions worry me. I am taking Wellbutrin and Aderall. Does anyone else take these with Antabuse? Any info would help!! I'm nervous to take it and I'm nervous not to and keep drinking.

Spiritgirl, I checked Antabuse against Wellbutrin and there are no known interactions. Aderall was not listed in the drug interaction site I used.

Rachel, welcome! I don't know about the nicotine patch. I don't know what "drug" that would be, but I tried Nicotinex and there is no counterindication for that.

You can check drug interactions/counterindications at this site (among others):
