Question about other remedy for alcohol: RU-21

Was wondering if anyone has further knowledge or opinion about this. I have taken it and can attest to it's ability to prevent a hangover, but was more interested in the claim about protection of the liver. For those who are not familiar, RU-21 was developed in Russia and is composed of a few natural ingrdients that are supposed to prevent acetaldehyde (had to look that one up) , the toxic byproduct from alcohol consumption, from being processed in the liver, thereby protecting the body from damage. If this really works, it sounds like something that should put put in every bottle of booze, but I can't seem to find much research being done. Anybody know anything? Is it worth the money?

    Hi Bevanee, Welcome to you!:welcome:

I think I have heard of it or something similar. But isn't the best thing not to drink?

Question about other remedy for alcohol: RU-21

Yes, absolutly better not to drink and I am abstinent for at least the next few months. I hope to be able to drink socially in the future and was wondering if such a product would work to protect my liver from damage. My liver enzymes have been elevated to begin with and I'm a little concerned about the topamax and all the supplements and what effect they will have. After all, everything one way or the other gets processed through the liver. I will not start my plan for moderate drinking until my enzymes are back to normal and I want to keep them there. I realized after I sent the post it didn't sound right, at least not what I wanted to say exactly. Looking for more info...does it work?
