I had a really successful summer cutting back on drinking. I am up to 175mg of Topamax for the past couple of weeks and my cravings were practically non-existent. But now I'm back to work, and that vicious cycle of daily stress is back in business, and I've found myself drinking a little more here and there. I'm still not drinking nearly like I was, but it's increasing. I'm dosing up to 200mg tomorrow. I lay in bed last night having an inner debate with myself--do I talk to my doctor about an anti-anxiety med. I was on Lexapro but weaned myself off of it earlier this summer or do I just tough out the stress. My job isn't going to change so the stress is going to be there, and I definitely don't want to use alcohol as my means of relaxation. I just needed to vent. I know several people here said they felt more of an impact when they dosed up to 200mg or beyond. I'm thinking that 125-175mg worked well for me when I was relaxed and generally happy, but now that I feel stressed and generally like there are not enough hours in the day, the brain chemistry is off balance. Increasing the dose may help put me back to where I was this summer. I hope so.

Julie, sounds like you are already thinking. I am sure you will be much happier if you do not go where you were and continue on your better path. That is what I keep telling myself. I am on day 4 AF. Scared too death and have never really gave not drinking a serious effort. Iknow I have got to do something. You'll do it. I
