Hi guys,

just wondering if anyone has any info on gabapentin?? iv heard it can be used when withdrawing from alcohol, has anybody tried it or know anybody who has? Any info would be much appreciated

Hi Lou,
I was on this drug for six months due to some neurological symptoms I have from an entraped nerve. I was drinking most days at the time, so I don't know about the usefulness for withdrawal. It certainly did not reduce my desire for alcohol. The side effects are generally minimal. I think it is considered a pretty safe drug for that reason. The common name is neruotin, some people may be more familiar with that term.
